The New Year is off to a busy start this year at Mint! We are excited for the first weekend guide of 2025, so let’s jump right in and find you all some fun things to do around town this weekend!

Art & comedy

  • Sarah Siverman will be at Cobb Energy Center this Sunday.
  • “& Juliet” is showing at the Fox. Created by the Emmy®-winning writer from “Schitt’s Creek,” this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told. & Juliet asks: what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo? 
  • Everyone receives FREE admission to the High Museum of Art on the second Sunday of each month. Enjoy special family-friendly programming from 1 to 4 pm.
  • Georgia Mountain String Band Live and in person at Waller’s Coffee Shop Expect a night of original bluegrass and country music.
  • Open Mic Comedy in Buckhead – Sunday 7-9
  • “Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World” is open at Fernbank Museum of Natural History through Sunday.
  • Hear the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra perform Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” Friday and Sunday at Atlanta Symphony Hall. David Coucheron conducts. 
  • The Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit, “My New Yorks,” is on display at the High Museum of Art. 
  • A new exhibit, “Golden Opportunity: Botanical Illustration,” is at Fernbank Museum through Jan. 1, 2025. 
  • The exhibit, “Giants from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” is open at the High Museum of Art through Jan. 19, 2025.
  • Clueless vs Mean Girls drag brunch at City Winery.

  • Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual lighting extravaganza, Garden Lights, Holiday Nights continues through Sunday.
  • Fernbank Museum of Natural History’s monthly event for adults, Fernbank After Dark, is set for 7 p.m. Friday. Enjoy themed cocktails and test your electrical knowledge with activities such as using a Van der Graaf machine and learning some electrifying party tricks.  
  • The annual chance to think about warm weather out on the lake starts Thursday when the Discover Boating Atlanta Show opens at Georgia World Congress Center. Through Sunday, sun lovers can shop boats, marine gear and accessories and dream about summer days. 
  • Portraits & Prosecco – Thompson Buckhead Hotel – 1/10 – Join Thompson Atlanta – Buckhead for a glass of Mionetto Prosecco and capture your best side with high-quality headshots from Andre Brown and team. Connect with fellow professionals in a chic and sophisticated setting while enhancing your personal brand. 
  • Titanic: An Immersive Voyage in Atlanta is an extraordinary expedition to the depths of the Titanic’s history. Life-sized recreations of rooms, immersive video animations, and 3D views place you onboard the ship as a passenger, offering an unparalleled experience to learn about one of history’s most iconic tragedies.

  • Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual lighting extravaganza, Garden Lights, Holiday Nights continues through Sunday.
  • Smores at the Wylde Center. Edgewood Garden comes to life with our free S’mores in the Garden event! Gather around the fire to roast marshmallows, make s’mores, and connect with friends, family, and nature. This family-friendly event is open to all, and we’ll provide everything you need for a cozy night outdoors. Come enjoy the warmth of the fire and the beauty of the garden at Edgewood!
  • The exhibit, “X-Ray Vision: Fish Inside Out,” opens Saturday at Fernbank Museum of Natural History. 
  • Fernbank Museum of Natural History once again brings WildWoods Aglow to Atlanta. It is on exhibit through Feb. 23, 2025. 
  • Zoo Atlanta’s annual IllumiNights showcases vistas of brilliantly illuminated wildlife and captivating sights that celebrate the wonders of nature. This year, the zoo introduces new lanterns and experiences, transforming Zoo Atlanta into a nighttime wonderland. IllumiNights opens Thursday and continues through Jan. 19, 2025.
  • Children’s Museum of Atlanta’s fall featured exhibit, “Wallace & Gromit: Get Cracking,” The exhibit will educate and entertain kids through Jan. 12, 2025. 

Sports, fitness & outdoors:

  • Grab your skates. There is still time to go skating in Sandy Springs, at Atlantic Station and at Park Tavern!
  • The Atlanta Hawks play the Houston Rockets at 3 p.m. Saturday at State Farm Arena. It’s Kids Day at the arena, which means there will be family fun including Harry the Hawk and the ATL Dancers. The first 5,000 kids who enter get a Harry Squish Pillow Plush. 
  • The Georgia State Panthers men’s basketball team plays the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 4 p.m. Saturday at the GSU Convocation Center.
  • Puppy Yoga in Smryna –  Join a pawsitively fun time at PuppyYoga – where downward dog meets actual dogs for a unique and adorable yoga experience!
  • The Georgia State women’s basketball team plays the Troy Trojans at 1 p.m. Saturday at the GSU Convocation. Center.
  • Hank Aaron Exhibit at Atlanta History Center.
