  • Damsel, a two-story cabaret restaurant and supper club, is now open at The Works. Grab a reservation and check it out!
  • George Bizet’s “Carmen” is on stage at Rialto Center for the Arts Saturday and Sunday, performed by the Georgia State Opera Theater. 
  • The Georgia Shorts Film Festival is set for Sunday at Limelight Theatre. 
  • Dad’s Garage presents “To Peach Their Own,” Saturday through May 4. Scenes, songs and characters take a look at Atlanta in a way that only Dad’s Garage can. “To Peach Their Own” is a new and original comedy revue that will leave you peach-less
  • MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta) opens the exhibit “Al Dente: The Design of Pasta” on Friday. 
  • Women’s Comedy Film Festival – 4/14 10:30 AM – 7 PM
  • A reimagining of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility” runs through April 28.
  • Nathalie Stutzmann, music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and soprano Renée Fleming join the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for an evening of Richard Strauss.  The concert, performed on Thursday and Saturday, is part of the German Romantics Festival.
  • 7 Stages presents Mozart’s opera, “Don Giovanni,” sung in English with a new modern translation backed by a rock orchestra. See it through April 21.
  • “Mercury” is on the stage at Actor’s Express – King Plow Arts Center from April 11th to April 28th.
  • Oakhurst Jazz Nights – The Solarium (Decatur) Jazz it up with the Oakhurst Neighborhood Association for the 20th season of Oakhurst Jazz Nights, featuring free outdoor jazz concerts every Thursday in April at the Solarium, promising an evening of musical delight.  oakhurstjazznights.com Thursdays (April 4, 11, 18 and 25) from 7 – 9 p.m.

  • The Atlanta Dogwood Festival returns for its 88th annual celebration, offering a rich tapestry of art, entertainment, and culinary delights, with hundreds of artists presenting their talents, complemented by a Kids Village for family-friendly activities, sponsor booths featuring interactive games and prizes, and an enticing lineup of musical performances to enjoy throughout the weekend. Friday, April 12 – Sunday, April 14
  • The Georgia Renaissance Festival, a trek back to the 16th century, opens Saturday and runs weekends through June 2.
  • Oakland Cemetery’s Spring to Life Festival is Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., there will be a spring plant sale. 
  • Reynoldstown Farmer’s Market – Located in the shady parking lot in front of Lang Carson Recreation Center at 100 Flat Shoals Ave, SE Atlanta, the market is just 100 yards off the Beltline. Join the neighbors of Reynoldstown Sundays from noon to 3pm for this festive market.
  • Coffee and Chrome – Jess Lucas Park (Hapeville) – Calling all car and motorcycle enthusiasts! Coffee & Chrome invites attendees for a monthly morning car and motorcycle show, where participants can showcase their antique, classic or customized vehicles every 2nd Saturday from April through September. hapeville.org; Saturday, April 13 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Explore Brookhaven, with Word of Mouth Restaurants, presents SIP Brookhaven on April 13th, 3-6 PM at Oglethorpe University. Enjoy boutique wines, craft cocktails, local beer, and bites from top Brookhaven spots. 
  • The Balloon Museum at Pullman Yards is flying high through April 14.

For the family:

  • Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Music for the Very Young series presents “The Velveteen Rabbit” Saturday through April 20 at the Rich Theatre at the Woodruff Arts Center. This 45-minute interactive performance is designed for 3- to 8-year-olds.
  • Spiders — From Fear to Fascination” is on view at Fernbank Museum of Natural History through May 5.
  • Stellaluna‘ is playing at Center for Puppetry Arts through May 19.
  • Dino Festival at Stone Mountain Park runs through April 28. Check the Stone Mountain Park website for specific times and dates for various events.
  • The popular exhibit Flora, Fauna & Flight returns to Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday March 23rd and continues through June 23.
  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta hosts “Outside the Box”. The exhibit runs through May 5. “Outside the Box” aims to fuel children’s imaginations by unleashing a world of timeless fun.  

Sports, fitness & outdoors:

  • Atlanta United and Philadelphia Union play at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. 
  • The Atlanta Vibe plays the Omaha Supernovas at 7 p.m. Saturday at Gas South Arena. Atlanta is ranked first in league standings; Omaha is ranked second.
  • Atlanta History Center launches new Hank Aaron exhibit.
  • The first Feeney’s Fun Run for the Feeney Legacy Project (FLP) is April 14, 2024, starting at 9:30am
  • Color Walk at Agnes Scott College – Saturday at 2pm.
  • Wylde Center Spring Plant Sale Festival – 4/13 at 9 AM
  • Miles for Migraine will host its 2nd annual 2-mile Walk, 5K Run and Relax Georgia Event, hosted in Atlanta on Saturday April 13th, at Westside Park. This event is a fundraiser for Migraine & Headache Awareness, Treatment & Research. I
  • Orchid Daze, Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual celebration of its signature plant collection, is open through April 14.
