Art & comedy
- Shaky Knees Music Festival is back for its TENTH year! This rockin’ festival takes place on May 5-7 at Central Park and will feature more than 60 bands, including headliners like The Killers, Muse, and The Lumineers, performing on four different stages.
- Head to downtown Decatur this weekend for the Decatur Arts Festival. Headlining Friday night is the ArtWalk. Stroll the streets with music in the air and refreshments available. The Artists Market, featuring the work of 140 artists, opens Saturday and continues through Sunday. In addition, there will be music, comedy, theater performances and a Kids’ Fest.
- The Fox Theatre presents two big concerts this weekend. The Gipsy Kings perform Friday at 8 p.m., and Seal brings his World Tour to the Fox at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
- Jill Scott: Who Is Jill Scott? 5/6/23 at 8:00 PM at Cadence Bank Amphitheatre
- Classical music lovers should head to the Woodruff Arts Center where principle guest conductor Donald Runnicles will conduct Mahler Symphony No. 5 Thursday and Saturday, both concerts at 8 p.m.
- Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. it’s High Frequency Friday at the High Museum of Art.
- Starting Saturday and occurring on multiple dates through May 7, the Atlanta Opera presents “Das Rheingold” at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
- Start your weekends unwinding with live musical performances in The Colony Square Plaza every Friday from April to October.
- Jazzy Sundays in the Parks: Discovery Green – Free concert series celebrating the legacy of jazz.
- The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an outdoor market that features local art and hand-crafted items. It takes place on most Saturdays, year-round.
- See what is playing at a local theater venue.
- Food and Street Art Tour of the Atlanta BeltLine – Every Saturday until 11/18/2023.

- Oakland Cemetery brings back its nighttime experience, Illumine, starting Thursday and running through May 7. Sunset sees the historic cemetery transformed with lights illuminating headstones, mausolea, flowers and trees. And, yes, there also will be music, cocktails and even a pop-up shop.

- Olympic and world champions and American and world record-holders will compete under the lights at the inaugural Adidas Atlanta City Games, set to be held Saturday in Centennial Olympic Park. The event is free and open to the public.
- The Atlanta Braves take on the Baltimore Orioles. Game time is 7:20 p.m. Friday, and fans should stay after the last out for Friday Night Fireworks. Saturday’s game starts at 7:15 p.m., and, prior to the first pitch, fans can enjoy music at the Georgia Power Pavilion stage at The Battery. On Sunday, with game time at 11:35 a.m., there is a sunglasses giveaway.
- Rugby ATL takes on the Chicago Hounds at 6 p.m. Saturday at Silverbacks Park.
- Colony Square is having a Kentucky Derby Party Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- The Mitsubishi Electric Classic returns to the metro Atlanta area May 1 – 7, 2023 and looks forward to welcoming players on PGA TOUR Champions
