  • Chamblee June Summer Concert Series – June 7th 6:30-10PM.
  • Every first Friday join Elsewhere Brewing for a free show of some of Atlanta’s best comics. Hosted by Vas Sanchez! Free to join. Show starts at 8pm! Come for dinner from one of their neighbors and stay for the show!
  • “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” continues at Theatrical Outfit through Sunday.  
  • Hammonds House Museum presents “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” through Aug. 18. 
  • Hammonds House Museum opens a new exhibit on Friday. “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” runs through Aug. 18. A master of collage, Middleton’s compositions weave together musical scores, photographs and graphic elements in a dance of color and form. His art is a testament to the enduring influence of jazz.
  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse is showing Ken Ludwig’s “The Three Musketeers” through June 30.

More fun things!

  • It’s back. The Virginia Highland Summerfest takes over the streets of this intown neighborhood Saturday and Sunday. There will be an artists’ market, live music, a 5K fun run, a kidsfest and a Friday night kick-off party.
  • The 12th annual Atlanta Fringe Festival continues through Sunday. The festival includes live theater, dance, comedy, storytelling, puppetry and more. Venues include the East Atlanta Kids Club, 7 Stages Theatre, the Marianna at Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Limelight Theater, Metropolitan Studios and Dynamic El Dorado.
  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden presents “Alice’s Wonderland Returns” Saturday through Sept. 15. The exhibit features seven installations of 22 of the topiary-like mosaiculture pieces throughout the garden. 
  • Reynoldstown Farmer’s Market – Located in the shady parking lot in front of Lang Carson Recreation Center at 100 Flat Shoals Ave, SE Atlanta, the market is just 100 yards off the Beltline. Join the neighbors of Reynoldstown Sundays from noon to 3pm for this festive market.
  • The Balloon Museum at Pullman Yards is flying high through June 9.

For the family:

  • Kids Video Connection, Inc. will present the 17th annual Atlanta Children’s Film Festival (ACFF) from June 7 – 23, 2024. The ACFF features two and a half weeks of eye-opening and exciting activities, including film screenings and workshops for children, teens, and industry professionals. 
  • UniverSoul Circus flies high at Atlantic Station through Sunday. Featuring stars from five continents, all backed by the beat of World Music, UniverSoul Circus reimagines itself this year with more than a dozen culturally diverse performances. The circus features never-before-seen acts from Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic and Mongolia as well as an 18-person flying trapeze act from China.
  • A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature – On view June 8 – Sept. 9, 2024 at Fernbank Museum

Sports, fitness & outdoors:

  • Piedmont Park’s most popular fitness class is back! This 1.5 hour strength building, core sculpting, heart pumping pool workout is perfect for the summer! Be prepared for for a circuit-training, total-body class for the first 45 minutes of class (wear tennis shoes). Please bring swimwear for the second half of class.  8:30am to 10:00am **1.5 HOUR CLASS!!**Saturdays June 4-July 16
