  • Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is playing at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Friday and Sunday. 
  • A Tale of Two Cities” opens on the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola stage this week and continues through March 17. 
  • Parsons Dance performs at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rialto Center for the Arts. The company is known for contemporary American dance.
  • Subtronics, the boundary-pushing genre-bending bass music artist, is gearing up to embark on his most impressive tour to date, the TESSERACT Tour, scheduled for early 2024. See them at State Farm Arena on Friday, March 8, 2024.
  • Friday night at the High Museum of Art brings Oasis. From 6 until 9 p.m. you may tour the galleries without the crowds, drop in for a yoga class or enjoy a glass of wine and a quiet conversation.
  • Sunday is UPS Second Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. The High offers free admission for all visitors and special family-friendly programming. Enjoy art-making activities, performances and the museum’s collection and special exhibitions.
  • Join the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra for their second concert of the season, led by Associate Conductor William R. Langley. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance.

For the family:

  • The Atlanta Science Festival begins it’s two weeks of science-related activities on Saturday. Kids and adults alike can dive into a range of topics ranging from coding and astronomy to nature walks and robotics. The festival culminates in the Exploration Expo (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23 in Piedmont Park). It is a free, family-friendly event with hands-on activities and shows.
  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta invites families to Superhero Science Night on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 
  • “Spiders — From Fear to Fascination” is on view at Fernbank Museum of Natural History through May 5. 
  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta hosts “Outside the Box”. The exhibit runs through May 5. “Outside the Box” aims to fuel children’s imaginations by unleashing a world of timeless fun.  
  • Westside Sports League is a Year-round program for youth in grades 3rd to 12th. Youth participate in sports such as baseball, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball.The Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrates Black History Month Thursday through Feb. 29. Youngsters will learn about the impact of Black innovators and artists. 

Sports, fitness & outdoors:

  • Attend the Atlanta Vibe game Saturday night for a celebration on Women in Sports and Business. The Vibe is taking on the Vegas Thrill at 7 p.m. at Gas South Arena.
  • Atlanta United FC faces the New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta United is ranked 13th, New England 14th in the Eastern Conference.
  • The Atlanta Hawks play the New Orleans Pelicans at 6 p.m. Sunday at State Farm Arena. 
  • Georgia Aquarium’s Sea Otter 5K is Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. The Peachtree Qualifier 3.1-mile course is a quick “out and back” run/jog/walk recommended for ages 8 and up.
  • The 40th Annual Hunger Walk/Run, hosted by the Atlanta Community Food Bank, is Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. at the Home Depot Backyard. It provides a chance to make a difference in the fight against hunger in Georgia.
  • Orchid Daze, Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual celebration of its signature plant collection, is open through April 14.

  • Butterfly Lantern Parade – March 23rd in Hapeville. Enjoy local art vendors, food, and our creation station! The parade will begin at 8:10 in the park and everyone is always invited to make a butterfly lantern and walk in the parade with Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons and Seed & Feed Marching Abominables! Parade attire is floral galore!
