- Join Virginia Higlands for the VaHi Porchfest on May 18th as the celebrate the community through music on the front porches across VaHi!
- The International Street Festival kicks off Friday, featuring over 45 vendors and street performers dedicated to celebrating the Chamblee community.
- Head on over to the Roswell Music Festival for two stages of larger-than-life performances ranging from Magnolia Express to Troy Doherty.
- Alpharetta Art in the Park at Brooke Street Park – April through October – Held one weekend a month – Saturdays, 9:00AM –4:00PM and Sundays, 12:00PM – 4:00PM
- Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., visit the Indie Craft Experience at Monday Night Garage. Shop 60 local craft, vintage and food vendors and snag a free tote bag if you are among the first 100 people in line.
- Hammonds House Museum opens a new exhibit on Friday. “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” runs through Aug. 18. A master of collage, Middleton’s compositions weave together musical scores, photographs and graphic elements in a dance of color and form. His art is a testament to the enduring influence of jazz.
- The Sound Waves Music Series kicks off Friday night at Georgia Aquarium. Every Friday from April 26 through May, Georgia Aquarium’s Sound Waves celebrates the arts, diversity and local talent. Enjoy live music with enhanced lighting and atmospheric elements in the atrium to complement the artists. You will have access to the aquarium’s galleries, included with general admission. Sound Waves occurs from 5 until 8 p.m.
- MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta) opens the exhibit “Al Dente: The Design of Pasta” on Friday.
- The Georgia Renaissance Festival, a trek back to the 16th century, opens Saturday and runs weekends through June 2.
- The Balloon Museum at Pullman Yards is flying high through June 9.
- Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE is on display at Phipps Plaza Saturday through May 22. You will see a curated collection of 12 one-of-a-kind fresh floral mannequins. On Saturday, you can watch free floral demonstrations, shop for fresh blooms from local florists at a pop-up flower market and have the opportunity to meet the 12 floral teams behind Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE.

- The annual Kirkwood Spring Fling Festival & Tour of Homes showcases Atlanta’s historic & vibrant Kirkwood neighborhood. Join thousands of residents from throughout the metro area in Bessie Branham Park for a day of sun, fun and community.
- Atlanta Streets Alive opens Peachtree Street from 15th Street to Mitchell Street to pedestrians on Sunday from 1 until 5 p.m. Glide on your skateboard, pedal you bicycle or let your feet to the work. Most importantly, have fun.
- The Georgia Craft Brewers Festival pours a few on Saturday at Westside Paper. In addition to the brews, there will be music, local food, social meet-ups and a maker’s market. The festival will feature 50 participating breweries from across Georgia. The festival occurs from 1 until 5 p.m.
- The Atlanta Botanical Garden presents “Alice’s Wonderland Returns” Saturday through Sept. 15. The exhibit features seven installations of 22 of the topiary-like mosaiculture pieces throughout the garden.
- UniverSoul Circus vaults into Atlantic Station this weekend and will fly high through June 2.
- The second annual Latino Family Festival take place the first three weekends in May at Stone Mountain Park. Enjoy a celebration of Latino music, dance and culture, featuring live international talent including dancers, musicians, a marching band, all-new festive parade and a massive drone and light show. Join in the fun Saturdays and Sundays May 4 — 19.
- “Threads of Justice,” a pop-up exhibit at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, celebrates American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The exhibit, inspired by the 1985 Garment Workers’ strike in Chinatown, showcases the work of 12 artists to honor Asian American experiences. See it through May 31.
- Reynoldstown Farmer’s Market – Located in the shady parking lot in front of Lang Carson Recreation Center at 100 Flat Shoals Ave, SE Atlanta, the market is just 100 yards off the Beltline. Join the neighbors of Reynoldstown Sundays from noon to 3pm for this festive market.
For the family:
- Take your children to the Marietta History Center for an opportunity to explore and enjoy a day of crafts and activities. From hands-on exhibits to crafting stations, visitors of all ages will have the chance to explore and learn more about the center. Families can explore the rich heritage of Marietta while immersing themselves in the stories of the past.
- “Spiders — From Fear to Fascination” is on view at Fernbank Museum of Natural History through May 5.
- “Stellaluna‘ is playing at Center for Puppetry Arts through May 19.
- The popular exhibit Flora, Fauna & Flight returns to Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday March 23rd and continues through June 23.
- The Children’s Museum of Atlanta hosts “Outside the Box”. The exhibit runs through May 5. “Outside the Box” aims to fuel children’s imaginations by unleashing a world of timeless fun.
Sports, fitness & outdoors:
- The Atlanta Braves host the San Diego Padres this weekend for a four-game series at Truist Park.
- The 11th annual Midtown Garden Stroll, a free event, is Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. in the Historic Midtown Garden District on Penn Avenue. The stroll is an outdoor self-guided tour. You can expect to see formal gardens, casual gardens, fountains, espalier, backyard beekeeping, intricate brickwork and inspiring ideas for family yards. You may also visit the Garden Stroll Market where local artisans will showcase their creations, live musicians will play and a Midtown artist will complete a live painting. Tasty bites and drinks are also offered by Atlanta-based restauranteurs.
- Atlanta History Center has a new Hank Aaron exhibit.
