Art & comedy

  • The new Cirque du Soleil show “Echo” runs at Atlantic Station through Jan. 21, 2024.
  •  The Alliance Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol” returns this weekend for its 34th year. This, the third year of the reimagined classic, runs through Dec. 24. 
  • The Queen’s Cartoonists synchronize their instruments to the music of cartoons during a performance at the Rialto Center for the Ats. While classic cartoons play on the screen, the musicians lead audiences through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem and comedy as they meticulously recreate the soundtracks.
  • The 2023 Higher Benefit Concert at the Kupcakerie in Grant Park is an inaugural gospel benefit concert that helps us raise funds for our need-based grants and merit-based scholarships.
  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse performs “The Tempest” starting Saturday and running through Nov. 26 (but not on Thanksgiving Day). 

  • A new exhibit, “In the City of Light: Paris, 1850–1920” is open at the High Museum of Art through the end of the year. 
  • The exhibit, “Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature” is open at the High Museum of Art and runs through Jan. 7, 2024.
  • Atlanta’s CDC Museum has opened the exhibit, “Ghosts of Segregation: Photographs of Rich Frishman.” The exhibit explores the lingering presence of segregation, slavery and institutional racism hidden in everyday American architecture. See it through May 24, 2024.
  • Every weekend through December (weather permitting), Creator’s Market sets up on the green at Atlantic Station.

  •  Veteran’s Day Weekend is here. Check out a variety of Veteran’s Day events and be sure all the Veterans in your life enjoy a variety of freebies around town!
    – The 42nd annual Veterans Day Parade is happening on Peachtree Street between 15th Street and 4 Street on Nov. 11. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. 
    – The 2023 Georgia Veterans Day Observance Ceremony is happening 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at Azadi Galleria at the Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown Atlanta. 
    – The City of Dunwoody is hosting its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at DeKalb Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park. 
    – The City of Roswell is hosting a Veterans Honor Walk & Ceremony at the Roswell Area Park Pond at 9 a.m. Nov. 11
    Six Flags Over Georgia is hosting Veterans Weekend Nov. 11 and 12. Veterans and active duty military personnel will receive complimentary park admission and parking when they present a valid military ID. 
    Atlanta History Center is inviting all active-duty service members, veterans, their families and grateful community members to its Veterans Day Celebration from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Nov. 12. 
  • Come out to the Atlanta Mushroom Festival! Bring your family from out of town and have some fun at Wild Heaven West End Brewery & Gardens SATURDAY Nov. 25th! 12-7PM
  • The Atlanta Comic Convention invites all fans of comic books, toys and collectibles to the Atlanta Marriott Century Center/Emory Area Monday through Sunday.
  • Black Podcasters Weekend – 11/11 and 11/12
  • Not for the faint of heart, but a sure bet for Howl-oween lovers, Netherworld Haunted House  plans to continue scaring the bejeepers out of you through Nov. 11. 
  • Midtown Atlanta Food and Cocktail Tour – Multiple days until 12/31/2023

  • Join GPB and PNC/Grow Up Great for Be My Neighbor Day at The Home Depot Backyard. This free family event invites kids to learn what it means to be a caring neighbor. Meet your local community helpers, enjoy hands-on activities, and say hello to Daniel Tiger at this grrr-ific event! Be My Neighbor Day is free to attend, but registration is requested.
  • Get ready for a reel good time on the square in downtown Decatur. The Screen on the Square Movie Series is here to bring you a lineup of family-friendly movies selected to delight audiences of all ages. (Nov 10th and December 1st) 
  • Wildwoods: AGLOW opens Friday at Fernbank Museum of Natural History and will remain open on select nights through Feb. 25, 2024. 
  • Rudolph soars back into town at the Center for Puppetry Arts with this faithful adaptation of the beloved 1964 stop-motion animated special.
  • Georgia Aquarium is all decked out for the holidays, and even the critters are in on the fun. Beginning Friday and through Jan. 1, 2024, take in the sights and sounds of Holidays at Georgia Aquarium in the transformed atrium with festive music, winter-inspired projections and a 40-foot live tree. 
  • Stone Mountain Christmas kicks off the holiday season on Saturday with two new attractions: a new North Pole Experience and the arrival of Aurora the Princess of Light. Stone Mountain Christmas brings festive music, millions of dazzling lights, immersive walk-thru experiences and visits with popular holiday characters.
  • The Alliance Theatre presents “Into the Burrow: A Peter Rabbit Tale” through Dec. 23. 
  • Emotions at Play with Pixar’s “Inside Out” is open at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta. The exhibit, based on the Disney and Pixar animated feature “Inside Out” and runs through Jan. 7, 2024.  
  • The exhibit Vikings: Warriors of the Sea opens at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday and runs through Jan. 1, 2024. 
  • Jurassic World: The Exhibition is open at Pullman Yards through the end of the year. Walk through Jurassic World and see a Brachiosaurus, a Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

  • Through Nov. 12, the World of Coca-Cola is extending a special invitation to the members of the military. Active duty, reserves and retirees can enjoy a visit to World of Coca-Cola free of charge year-round, but to honor Veterans Day, from Friday until Nov. 12, members of the Armed Forces may purchase up to four general admission tickets at half-price. The discounted tickets can be purchased online starting on Nov. 1 using the promo code VETS2023. Members will be asked to present their valid Armed Forces ID when they arrive.
