Art & comedy
- Elevate Atlanta 2023 kicks off this weekend with an exhibit showcasing women photographers and their documentation of hip-hop culture.
- Out on Film, Atlanta’s LGBTQ film festival, begins on Thursday and runs through Oct. 1. The festival showcases approximately 150 narratives, documentaries and short films.
- Best known from the Comedy Central show Tosh.O, Daniel Tosh will perform an evening of stand up comedy at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on September 22.
- The third African Film Festival Atlanta starts Thursday and runs through the weekend at various locations. The festival showcases films made by Africans and people of African descent, and films that explore African themes.
- The Atlanta Opera and the Alliance Theatre present Stephen King’s “The Shining,” starting Saturday and running through Oct. 1.
- There are a variety of music offerings this weekend including Drake at State Farm, Sounds of Summer at Brookrun Park, Yonder Mountain Spring Band, Neon Trees and more!
- Doraville Civic Center presents The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time 9/21/23 – 10/1/23
- Horizon Theatre presents “Rooted” starting Friday and running through Sept. 24.
- “English” is playing on the Hertz Stage through Sept. 17.
- Shakespeare Tavern opens “Troilus and Cressida” on Saturday. It will run through Sept. 24.
- “Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley: Let the World See,” opens at the Atlanta History Center on Saturday and runs through Sept 17.
- Every weekend through December (weather permitting), Creator’s Market sets up on the green at Atlantic Station. The market features more than a dozen vendors selling hand-crafted products including jewelry, home décor, soaps and candles

- East Atlanta Strut is this Saturday and uses a “porchfest” model to show off the entire neighborhood, which is rich with artists, musicians and fun-loving neighbors who will welcome you to their yards.
- If you love cars or have a cool one you want to show off, be sure to join the East Atlanta Roll on Friday as well!
- Oakland Cemetery’s annual Sunday in the Park party is this Sunday. Spend a relaxing day in this oasis, enjoying live music, food and beverages, an artist market, the annual historic costume contest and a kids’ activity area.
- The annual Peachtree Corners Festival is a two-day free community festival features arts & crafts exhibitors, a classic car show, live music, kids activities and lots of great food options! Free parking is also available for the festival.
- The 11th Atlanta Food & Wine Festival starts Tuesday and runs through the weekend. Headquarters is Historic Old Fourth Ward Park. More than 150 chefs, sommeliers, mixologists and industry insiders make it an event that is all about deliciousness. Enjoy walk-around tastings and cozy gourmet gatherings.
- Not for the faint of heart, but a sure bet for Howl-oween lovers, Netherworld Haunted House opens for the spooky season on Friday and plans to continue scaring the bejeepers out of you through Nov. 11.
- Fall brings the annual Pumpkin Festival to Stone Mountain Park beginning Saturday and running through Oct. 29.
- Little 5 Points Business Association presents L5P Patio Parties which will include Bands, Wellness weekends, Comedians, Dance Parties, Open Mics, Poetry, Psychics, and many other unique events.
- Every Saturday until Oct 15, zoo goers can enjoy the Goat Painting Wild Encounter at Zoo Atlanta. Join the animal care team and “VanGoat” the artist during a painting session. Your group chooses two colors for this unique work of art, and gets to take home the painting.

- Disney On Ice runs from 9/21/23 – 9/24/23 at State Farm Arena
- The 9th Annual Cool Dads Rock Soapbox Derby Festival will be held on Saturday, September 23 at the Historic Old Fourth Ward Park from 11:00am-4:00pm.
- Movies on The Lawn at Uptown continues with food, face painting, and fun as we screen the Disney hit “Encanto”!
- This bilingual production of a Mexican folktale finds Brother Coyote scheming to eat Doña Conchita’s chicken. Head to Center for Puppetry Arts where “Brother Coyote, Sister Fox” will be on stage starting Wednesday and running through Sept. 24.
- Emotions at Play with Pixar’s “Inside Out” is open at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta. The exhibit, based on the Disney and Pixar animated feature “Inside Out,” helps children understand the important role emotions, memory and imagination play in their everyday lives. The exhibit runs through Jan. 7, 2024.
- Be at the Fox Theatre this weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, to see “Paw Patrol Live.”
- Jurassic World: The Exhibition is open at Pullman Yards through the end of the year. Walk through Jurassic World and see a Brachiosaurus, a Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- Immersive Disney Animation is an innovative celebration that takes you inside the greatest films of Walt Disney Animation Studios, from their very earliest, groundbreaking features to the beloved hit movies of today from 5/4/23 to 9/30/23.

- Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the place to be on Saturday when Atlanta United takes on CF Montreal at 7:30 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game is presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
- Calling all Auburn fans! On Saturday, September 23, The Office Bar will host a game day watch party for the Auburn v. Texas A&M game.
- Want to get out of the city this weekend? Try scenic hiking trails, the shores of Lake Lanier, the idyllic grounds of Callaway Gardens or the serene beauty of Serenbe.
- Atlanta Beltline Weekly Run Group – Westside
- Cheer on the Atlanta Braves from the comfort of Midtown’s Living Room! In partnership with Bally Sports, Colony Square will be showing select Braves games on The Plaza big screen.
- Check out ongoing Free Fitness programs for all ages and fitness levels with a variety of exercise classes open to everyone in park location throughout the City of Atlanta including:
- Free Yoga Classes in Woodruff Park Saturdays from 10AM-11AM.
- Yoga at The Plaza. Enjoy a yoga experience outdoors every Wednesday from April to October.
- On non-game days, there’s free yoga at The Battery Atlanta every Monday evening, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required and free parking is available.

- Mark your calendars for BBQ & Bands on October 22 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. We are excited to share that BBQ & Bands is being brought to you this year by presenting partner, Ford’s BBQ. Proceeds from the festival will continue to benefit The Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite and their Community Grant Program. This year’s festival will feature FREE entry, a variety of BBQ and food options, beer, live music, a vendor marketplace, and more. Tasting and sip tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

- Enjoy family-friendly events at Colony Square on the last Tuesday of the month from April to October.
- Through October, start your month off with lots of laughs from The Punchline Comedy featuring live comedy acts, drinks specials, and more! The performances occur on the first Monday of the month, last about 90 minutes, and are recommended for ages 13 and older.
