  • Elevate Atlanta 2023 continues this weekend with the exhibit showcasing women photographers and their documentation of hip-hop culture. The exhibit is open through Oct. 28 at Gallery 72 at 72 Marietta St. 
  • This weekend, on Saturday at 8 p.m., Tipsy Taggin’ conducts a course on graffiti art paint at Best End Brewing.
  • The Sweet Auburn Music Festival celebrates 50 years of hip-hop Saturday and Sunday in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood. The festival blends music, people, food, entertainment and culture. Music at this family gathering features R&B, gospel and alternative sounds. 
  • Out on Film, Atlanta’s LGBTQ film festival, begins on Thursday and runs through Oct. 1. The festival showcases approximately 150 narratives, documentaries and short films. 
  • Explore new frontiers of digital creativity at SCAD AnimationFest 2023!
  • Atlanta 50 Years of Hip-Hop Experience is open at Underground Atlanta — ACVB Visitors Center through Nov. 1. The Experience is an immersive journey through Atlanta’s impact and legacy of hip-hop. You’ll see photography exhibits, custom artwork and memorabilia. 
  • Every Saturday until Oct 15, zoo goers can enjoy the Goat Painting Wild Encounter at Zoo Atlanta. Join the animal care team and “VanGoat” the artist during a painting session. Your group chooses two colors for this unique work of art, and gets to take home the painting.
  • The Atlanta Opera and the Alliance Theatre present Stephen King’s “The Shining,” starting Saturday and running through Oct. 1. 
  • Doraville Civic Center presents The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time 9/21/23 – 10/1/23
  • Every weekend through December (weather permitting), Creator’s Market sets up on the green at Atlantic Station. The market features more than a dozen vendors selling hand-crafted products including jewelry, home décor, soaps and candles

  • Fall Fest in Candler Park returns with music, art, kids’ activities, food, and Sweetwater beverages! All FREE on September 30th and October 1st in Candler Park.
  • Mark your calendars for BBQ & Bands on September 30th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. We are excited to share that BBQ & Bands is being brought to you this year by presenting partner, Ford’s BBQ. Proceeds from the festival will continue to benefit The Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite and their Community Grant Program. This year’s festival will feature FREE entry, a variety of BBQ and food options, beer, live music, a vendor marketplace, and more. Tasting and sip tickets will be available for purchase at the event.
  • Stop at Piedmont Park Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the Atlanta African Caribbean Festival. You won’t want to miss the African vs. Caribbean culture clash including Michael Blackson (comedian/actor) vs. Majah Hype (comedian/actor), and Mr. Vegas (dance hall musician) vs. Rotimi (actor/recording artist).
  • Historic Castleberry Hill is having an Urban Regatta on Saturday. On tap: the #bikeboat street race, an artist market and pop-up events.
  • The A3C Conference is in Atlanta at multiple locations starting Thursday and running through Sunday. Expect music, technology, panel discussions, fireside chats, meet and greet sessions, and photo opportunities.
  • The Halloween exhibit Woodland Spirits opens at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday and runs through Nov. 5. Woodland Spirits evokes mystery, adventure and imagination through commissioned sculptures created by artist Laura Lewis. This outdoor exhibit puts you face-to-face and nose-to-snout with ghostly “visitors” lurking among the trails
  • Not for the faint of heart, but a sure bet for Howl-oween lovers, Netherworld Haunted House opens for the spooky season on Friday and plans to continue scaring the bejeepers out of you through Nov. 11. 
  • The Atlanta Arab Festival celebrates all things Arabic at the Alif Institute Saturday and Sunday.
