- The Atlanta Opera Discoveries series continues the “Bohème Project” with two immersive productions at Pullman Yards. The project comprises repertory performances of a modern-day “La bohème” (Sept. 18-Oct. 5) with the COVID-19 pandemic in place of tuberculosis — with the Broadway show it inspired, Jonathan Larson’s “Rent” (Sept. 19-Oct. 6), which updated Puccini’s story of friendship, passion and art by setting it in the midst of the 1990’s HIV/AIDS crisis.

- The Urban Regatta returns to Castleberry Hill on Saturday from noon until 7 p.m. The festival features a vendor market, pop-up gallery, a costume contest and the boat race where bicycles are transformed into boats, relying on pedal power and creativity instead of motors and sails. Admission is free.
- Stone Mountain’s Colors of India Festival: Light shows, food, and performances.
- Verse Immersive, an augmented reality (AR) experience, is open at Ponce City Market’s The Roof. Verse Immersive uses AR visors to bring 3D characters and stories to life, offering guests an immersive experience as interactive tales unfold before their eyes. There are five experiences appropriate for ages 7 and older.
- The Home Depot Backyard next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the site for the final Piedmont Summer Movie Experience. On Saturday from 6 until 11 p.m. the BackYARD Fest invites guests to enjoy an evening of celebrating HBCU culture with food trucks, vendors, special guests, performances, vendors, games and a tailgate watch party, capped off by a featured movie on the lawn.
- Dining in the Dark: A Unique Blindfolded Dining Experience at Commerce Club Atlanta
- Rise and Dine with the Animals at the Zoo, where you can enjoy a continental breakfast while also enjoying an early morning view of the animals as they get ready to start their day.
- Atlantic Station hosts Creator’s Market from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon until 7 p.m. Sundays, every weekend through December.

- This September, enjoy Free Admissions for Kids at many attractions. Participating attractions include: Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame, David J. Senser CDC Museum, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Georgia Aquarium, High Museum of Art, Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, The Breman and World of Coca-Cola.
- The Center for Puppetry Arts opens “Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote” this week. It continues through Oct. 20.
- Fernbank Museum’s Mirror Maze: Interactive exhibit.
- “Owl at Home” at the Center for Puppetry Arts is the story of an owl who lives by himself and likes warm soup and Tear Drop Tea. Owl welcomes Winter to his home because Winter needs warming up. “Owl at Home” is part of the Theater for the Very Young series and will be on stage through Sept. 8. The show is for audiences ages 2 and older.
- Children’s Museum of Atlanta’s fall featured exhibit, “Wallace & Gromit: Get Cracking,” opens Saturday. Inspired by the film and television characters, this interactive exhibit invites visitors to engage in creative, hands-on activities that promote problem-solving and resilience. Created in collaboration with Aardman and the Minnesota Children’s Museum, the exhibit will educate and entertain kids through Jan. 12, 2025.
- A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature – On view June 8 – Sept. 9, 2024 at Fernbank Museum.

- The John Rhoden Sculpture Garden, the first of its kind dedicated solely to Rhoden’s works, opens this weekend at the Hammonds House Museum. The opening of the garden compliments an exhibition from the Hammonds House Museum Collection that explores the interconnectedness of African, African American and Caribbean artistic expressions. The John Rhoden Sculpture Garden features 10 of the artist’s sculptures. It will be a permanent attraction at the museum. The opening occurs Friday from 6:30-8:30 pm.
