  • Chamblee: City Hall Green Space – The city of Chamblee will host a family-oriented Fourth of July celebration again in 2024. The summer concert and fireworks will take place from 5 until 10 p.m. on July 4. The location is the new Chamblee City Hall, located at 3518 Broad St., in the downtown Chamblee entertainment district. There will be live music, fireworks, food and activities for kids and families. 
  • Decatur: Downtown – Decatur’s Fourth of July Pied Piper Parade starts at 6 p.m. It wends through downtown with floats, wagons, and bicycles. Music at the community bandstand starts at 7 pm. Fireworks begin at approximately 9.pm.
  • Dunwoody: Streets of Dunwoody – Dunwoody’s Fourth of July celebration draws more than 2,500 participants and more than 35,000 spectators. This year’s theme is “Red, White & YOU.” Considered the largest Independence Day parade in the state of Georgia, it features floats, marching bands, vintage cars, clowns and animals. Parade spectators are encouraged to set up chairs along Mount Vernon Road and circle around the Dunwoody Village Parkway into Dunwoody Village. 
  • Johns Creek: Newtown Park – The city of Johns Creek celebrates our country’s independence at Newtown Park with live music, activities, food and a fireworks display from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 3. The free event features food trucks and music from the band Boogilicious. 
  • Lawrenceville: Lawrenceville Lawn – The city of Lawrenceville will host a special Prelude to the Fourth from 5 until 10 p.m. on July 3. Guests are invited to gather on the Lawrenceville Lawn for a festive, free family-friendly event. 
  • Marietta: Fourth in the Park – The City of Marietta’s 4th In The Park Celebration begins at 10 a.m. on July 4 and includes a parade, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.  
  • Roswell: Roswell Area Park – The city of Roswell plans a July 4 celebration beginning at 6 p.m. in Roswell Area Park. 
  • Sandy Springs: City Springs – The Sandy Springs Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration at City Springs begins at 4 p.m., accompanied by the tunes of the band A-Town A-List starting at 7:30 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. 
  • Stone Mountain Park – Stone Mountain Park’s Fantastic Fourth celebration runs July 1-7. Visitors are invited to enjoy family attractions and live entertainment, followed by the new Music Across America Light Show. Tickets are required for the light show and fireworks.

  • Be one of 150,000 spectators cheering on the 60,000 participants in the country’s largest road race. The AJC Peachtree Road Race takes place along the course’s 10-kilometer route from Peachtree Road at Lenox Square Mall to Piedmont Park

  • The High Museum of Art opens the exhibit, “Tyler Mitchell: Idyllic Space” on Friday. Mitchell is an American photographer and filmmaker renowned for his portrayals that center Black self-determination and empowerment through scenes of love, leisure and camaraderie. 
  • Alpharetta Art in the Park at Brooke Street Park! – 6/29/24 – 6/30/24
  • The exhibit “Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” is open at the High Museum of Art. 
  • An exhibit opening at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday brings 18 larger-than-life metal sculptures of flowers and animals to the nature trails in WildWoods, The exhibit, “Forest Forms,” features sculptures inspired by nature and created by Huelani Mei. The sculptures include a fox family, flowers, rabbits, a snake archway, a peacock and more. “Forest Forms” will be open at Fernbank through Sept. 29.

The experience is inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, which translates to “forest bathing,” a chance to soak in the therapeutic benefits of being present in nature. 
  • Come out to the Broad Street Boardwalk for 60 minutes of all-levels vinyasa flow each Saturday morning at 10:00 AM! Yoga classes are open to the public and FREE to attend with an RSVP.   • Fourth Ward Park is the site of the Summer Beer Fest, happening from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be live music plus a DJ and, oh yeah, 150 beers. Are you an IPO or a stout?
  • The Interlock is turning three and what better way to celebrate than with a community block party! From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, the West Midtown neighborhood is invited to enjoy a live DJ, food and drink specials from everyone’s favorite spots, a variety of vendors, refreshing treats, giveaways and more. 
  • Friday night at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights brings Truth on the Rocks, a celebration of the center’s 10th anniversary, which includes dancing, cocktails and conversation. The center celebrates Juneteenth on Sunday with a quilt mural, a scavenger hunt, trivia and Juneteenth flag making. June 19 offers a performance, a scavenger hunt, trivia, flag making and outdoor activities.
