  • Hamilton returns to the Fox Theatre. There are performances at 8 p.m. Friday; 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday; and 1 and 7 p.m. Sunday. 
  • The first Saturday of each month brings several events to the high Museum of Art. Among the things to do from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday are: a drop-in family tour between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; drop-in Toddler Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon; drop-in art making from 1 until 3 p.m.; drop-in Teen Art Afternoon from 2 until 4 p.m.; and drop-in Beaded Prayers from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • The Alliance Theatre presents “Furlough’s Paradise” on the Hertz Stage starting Thursday and running through March 3. 
  • Hammonds House Museum launches its 2024 exhibition season with  artist Precious Lovell’s exploration of the experiences of Black American women and their interconnected relationships in two new collections, “The Fabric Of Our Lives: The Ties That Bind” and “Ex-Domestication.” The exhibition opens Friday and be on view through April 15.
  • The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) hosts the exhibit “Please Be Seated”. The exhibit runs through March 11.
  • Step into the enchanting world of Hollywood at Illuminarium Atlanta on Feb.3 for a Grammy’s Pre-Party! The event begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening 30 minutes before. 
  • Atlanta’s CDC Museum has opened the exhibit, “Ghosts of Segregation: Photographs of Rich Frishman.” The exhibit explores the lingering presence of segregation, slavery and institutional racism hidden in everyday American architecture.
  • Grant Park Neighborhood Food & Cemetery Tour combines history, delicious food, and street art.
  • Dolly Vs. No One (because no one compares) live at Eddie’s Attic! – 
    Amplify My Community is paying tribute to the incomparable Dolly Parton with a night of her greatest songs, performed by a collection of the very best local and regional artists

  • It’s that time of year again where savory and delicious Louisiana Cajun Style Oysters are on the menu and so is a good time! It’s the 12th annual Smyrna Oyster Fest hosted by your favorite neighborhood tavern- Atkins Park Smyrna.
  • Experience an enchanting celebration of Lunar New Year featuring lights, music and visuals at the top of every hour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Atlantic Green
  • The Groundhog Day Juggler’s Festival takes over the Yaarab Shrine Center this weekend. You’ll find juggling, unicycling, flow and play, hooping, comedy and family fun for all ages. The Cabaret, a variety show of juggling, comedy, unicycling, magic, yoyoing, hooping, music and bubbling, is among the things to do. It is held Saturday night and lasts about two hours. Kids Corner is where you’ll find games for children of all ages to try their hand at launching beanbags into the air and catching them in a bucket. 
  • Wildwoods: AGLOW at Fernbank Museum of Natural History will remain open on select nights through Feb. 25.
  • Have an unforgettable night with candle lights concerts, a series of original music concerts created by Fever aimed at democratizing access to classical music by allowing people to enjoy live music performances played by local musicians in various stunning locations, illuminated by thousands of candles.   • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrates Black History Month Thursday through Feb. 29. Youngsters will learn about the impact of Black innovators and artists. 
  • Center for Puppetry Arts and Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum Present ‘Ruth and the Green Book’
  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta hosts “Outside the Box”. The exhibit runs through May 5. “Outside the Box” aims to fuel children’s imaginations by unleashing a world of timeless fun.  
  • Dad’s Garage presents “Adventure Playhouse” a part-scripted and part-improv comedy show for kids, on stage through March 2. Showtime is Saturdays at 3 p.m. 
  • Westside Sports League is a Year-round program for youth in grades 3rd to 12th.   • State Farm Arena is the venue for NBA basketball featuring the Atlanta Hawks vs. the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors this weekend. The Hawks and the Suns tip off at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Hawks and the Warriors tips off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. 
  • This Sunday: The Hot Chocolate Run series is back LIVE for the 2023/2024 season! Join the chocolate movement that’s taking over the country. This race has it all — two distances, premium swag and a post-race chocolate experience like no other.

  • Braves Fest 24 is this weekend at Truist Park. The weekend begins with a fund-raising gala on Friday night and ends with a free festival on Saturday where fans may get autographs of players and coaches, participate in kids activities, baseball clinics and Q&A panels. The Saturday event is free, but you must obtain a free ticket to gain admission. Check the Braves website. While admission is free, some of the Saturday events will charge a fee. All proceeds from the weekend go to support underserved populations in Braves Country.

  • “Aladdin” is on stage at the Fox Theatre through Sunday. 
  • After selling out last time, David Nihill is back at City Winery with his new show, Shelf Help.
  • Come play with the magic of watercolors, and join The Atlanta Watercolor community as you release expectations, and let the water do the work! Attendees will be painting a bright pink Camellia flower. The instructor will guide the group through a step-by-step method to recreate this peaceful floral.
  • Garden Lights, Holiday Nights, the award-winning light extravaganza at Atlanta Botanical Garden, is open through Sunday. 
  • Friday Night’s Fernbank After Dark brings after-hour access to Fernbank’s exhibits including WildWoods: AGLOW, themed activities and music by Ansley Stewart. Her music echoes 1960s’ soul singers combined with the Athens, Ga., college radio waves of the 1990s.
  • At 7 p.m. Saturday, The Breman presents the Afro-Semitic Experience, a band that celebrates diversity, promotes social justice and inspires hope and joy. The music blends Jewish and African American music and draws from influences including traditional Jewish melodies, gospel, blues and jazz.
  • The Cirque du Soleil show “Echo” is open under the big top at Atlantic Station.  
  • See “Pericles: Prince of Tyre” at Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse Saturday through Jan. 27. 
  • The exhibit, “Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature” is on display at the High Museum of Art and runs through Sunday. And The High Museum of Art also presents the exhibit, “A Long Arc: Photography and the American South since 1845.”

  • MLK Weekend is Here. Celebrate the life and legacy of MLK at one of several events in town. Remember to make MLK Day “a day on, not a day off.”
    • The King Center plans a number of activities in January, including the Beloved Community Awards on Jan. 13 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. 
    • On Jan. 12, The King Center will rally educators, students, educational institutions and learning organizations across the world to participate in our Beloved Community Teach-In. 
    • The HBCU Culture Battle of the Bands is planned for Jan. 14 at State Farm Arena. 
    • Georgia Tech will commemorate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the 13th Annual MLK Lecture from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 featuring Maya Wiley, lawyer, professor and civil rights activist. 
    • On Jan. 15, Ebenezer Baptist Church plans the Martin Luther King Jr. Beloved Community Commemorative Service with featured speaker the Rev. Shavon Arline Bradley. president and CEO of the National Council of Negro Women.
    • Hands on Atlanta presents MLK Day 2024 Jan. 11-15. Thousands of Atlantans will unite in service in celebration of the King Holiday. 
    • The Atlanta History Center commemorates Dr. King’s legacy from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Jan. 15, with a variety of public activities including civil rights-themed trivia, crafts, kids activities, panel discussions and more.
    • In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., admission to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights will be free on Jan. 13. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so book yours online.
    • Oakland Cemetery is planning a morning of service on Jan. 15 as a way of honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Volunteers may help the cemetery with tree planting, garden beautification and clean up from 9 a.m. until noon. Check Oakland’s website for sign up and further details.

  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta will celebrate Martin Luther King Weekend Jan. 13-15. mong the scheduled events are: watercolor portraits and quotes in the art studio. The Morph Gallery will be laid out as a timeline through Dr. King’s life, with 39 steps (footprints) through the area to symbolize his 39 years of life with fun activities. Children will also be invited onto the Children’s Museum stage to celebrate MLK’s birthday and boogie on down for a Birthday Dance Party and walk around the museum together in a Birthday Parade.
  • Join a FREE Sing Along of Frozen at the Plaza theater! Bring the family for an afternoon party with free popcorn and drink.
  • Do you remember the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper, where the hard-working ants are preparing for winter while the fun-loving grasshopper plays? Members of your Atlanta Symphony will bring this fable to life during an interactive program that is aimed at children ages 3 to 8, which includes a storyteller and classical music you’ll recognize. 
  • Stop in at Fernbank Museum of Natural History to discover how rocks and minerals form and change over time with a little help from water, volcanoes and the movement of Earth itself. This event, recommended for ages 6 and older, runs from 2 until 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Also on Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. until noon, drop into Fernbank to meet a Fernbank forest ranger to learn more about the outdoors.
  • IllumiNights: A Chinese Lantern Festival is open at Zoo Atlanta through Sunday.
  • Wildwoods: AGLOW at Fernbank Museum of Natural History will remain open on select nights through Feb. 25.
  • Emotions at Play with Pixar’s “Inside Out” is open at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta through Sunday.

  • To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., all national parks, including Atlanta’s Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park offer free entry on Jan. 15. And, of course, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park is always free.
  • Join Tissot, the Official Timekeeper of the NBA at Dillard’s (Perimeter Mall) on January 14th, 2024, from 4:00PM until 5:30PM ET for a chance to meet legendary basketball player, Clint Capela!
  • Enjoy the Avondale Estates Farmer’s Market this Sunday.
  • It’s time for the Discover Boating Atlanta Boat Show at the Georgia World Congress Center. 
  • The Atlanta Hawks host the Indiana Pacers at 7:30 p.m. Friday and the Washington Wizards at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. See both games at State Farm Arena. The Friday game will feature a special halftime performance by Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

  • Free Yoga: Namaste through the holidays at Uptown Atlanta as we offer a three week series that features the Gifts of Yoga.
  • The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Kicks off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at noon on Saturday. The Ole Miss Rebels face the Penn State Nittany Lions. Prior to the kick-off, the football-themed Peach Bowl parade steps off at 8 a.m., featuring floats, bands, classic cars, cheerleaders, mascots and much more. The parade starts at Centennial Olympic Park and Baker Street and concludes at FanFest at the Georgia World Congress Center at 9:30 a.m.
  • The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl FanFest built by The Home Depot runs from 8 a.m. until noon. The FanFest is an indoor fan experience featuring 200,000 square feet of interactive attractions like punting, passing and kicking games, obstacle courses and zip lining.

  • The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library’s new holiday exhibit, “Holidays at the Carter White House,” is open through Jan. 6, 2024. There are a number of items that have never been displayed before including the menorah used for the 1979 Celebration of the Festival of Lights (the first time a president participated in a national celebration of Hanukkah), a 500-year-old painting depicting the nativity, Christmas stockings and much more.

  • November’s Friday Jazz at the High Museum of Art occurs Friday from 6 until 10 p.m. Enjoy a drink and light bites before heading to the galleries to explore the works on view. 
  • The First Voices Festival returns to 7 Stages Theatre on Friday and continues through Nov 24. The evening of Nov. 17 brings storytelling and music with Muscogee (Creek) elder and fine flute maker William Harjo. On Nov. 18 and 19, the soccer field in Little 5 Points will be filled with dancers, musicians, vendors and visitors to the only Pow Wow in the city of Atlanta. On Nov. 24, Plaza Theatre will screen “Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World,” a documentary about the influence of indigenous people on rock ‘n’ roll.
  • Follow the yellow brick road to Atlanta because the Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz is headed to Fox Theatre for seven performances in November, 2023.

  • Hapeville for the Holidays: Join in the park for the annual lighting of the tree! The evening is free and will include games, music, a snow play area, train rides, hot chocolate, cookies, and, of course, visits with Santa. (Tuesday Nov. 21st). 
  • Friday (17th) join the Atlanta History Center as they kick-off the holiday season with their second annual tree lighting ceremony of their 50 ft. tree with special performances followed by music, cash bar, pictures with Santa and more in the museum.
  • Barbie Dream Bar Cocktail Night at Battle and Brew: A night of nostalgic glitz, glamour and PINK drinks at the most iconic cocktail event of the year.
  • Garden Lights, Holiday Nights opens Saturday at Atlanta Botanical Garden and remains open through Jan. 14, 2024. 
  • The Georgia Festival of Trees opens on Saturday and continues through Nov. 26.  The Festival of Trees features a forest of Christmas trees available for auction, live music and entertainment, kids’ activities and games, gift shops from local artisans, food and more. Find it at the Georgia World Congress Center.
  • The Bell Tower Boutique at Oakland Cemetery is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Browse through a curated selection that includes handmade silver jewelry, colorful birdhouses and handcrafted cutlery.
  • From November 6 through December 9, order your fresh and fragrant Fraser fir wreaths from Historic Oakland Foundation’s annual wreath sale and decorate your home or your family plot.

  • The new Cirque du Soleil show “Echo” runs at Atlantic Station through Jan. 21, 2024.
  •  The Alliance Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol” returns this weekend for its 34th year. This, the third year of the reimagined classic, runs through Dec. 24. 
  • The Queen’s Cartoonists synchronize their instruments to the music of cartoons during a performance at the Rialto Center for the Ats. While classic cartoons play on the screen, the musicians lead audiences through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem and comedy as they meticulously recreate the soundtracks.
  • The 2023 Higher Benefit Concert at the Kupcakerie in Grant Park is an inaugural gospel benefit concert that helps us raise funds for our need-based grants and merit-based scholarships.

  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse performs “The Tempest” starting Saturday and running through Nov. 26 (but not on Thanksgiving Day). 

  • A new exhibit, “In the City of Light: Paris, 1850–1920” is open at the High Museum of Art through the end of the year.

  • Atlanta’s CDC Museum has opened the exhibit, “Ghosts of Segregation: Photographs of Rich Frishman.” The exhibit explores the lingering presence of segregation, slavery and institutional racism hidden in everyday American architecture. See it through May 24, 2024.
  • Every weekend through December (weather permitting), Creator’s Market sets up on the green at Atlantic Station.

    – The 42nd annual Veterans Day Parade is happening on Peachtree Street between 15th Street and 4 Street on Nov. 11. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. 
    – The 2023 Georgia Veterans Day Observance Ceremony is happening 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at Azadi Galleria at the Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown Atlanta. 
    – The City of Dunwoody is hosting its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at DeKalb Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park. 
    – The City of Roswell is hosting a Veterans Honor Walk & Ceremony at the Roswell Area Park Pond at 9 a.m. Nov. 11
    – Six Flags Over Georgia is hosting Veterans Weekend Nov. 11 and 12. Veterans and active duty military personnel will receive complimentary park admission and parking when they present a valid military ID. 
    – Atlanta History Center is inviting all active-duty service members, veterans, their families and grateful community members to its Veterans Day Celebration from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Nov. 12. 
  • Come out to the Atlanta Mushroom Festival! Bring your family from out of town and have some fun at Wild Heaven West End Brewery & Gardens SATURDAY Nov. 25th! 12-7PM
  • The Atlanta Comic Convention invites all fans of comic books, toys and collectibles to the Atlanta Marriott Century Center/Emory Area Monday through Sunday.
