  • Don’t forget to grab your tickets to the Ansley Park Tour of Homes –  October 5-6th!
  • Krog Street Market 10-Year Birthday – 8/10 4PM – 9PM – Music, face painting, balloon animals, caricatures, and more.
  • Grab a date or your besties and spend Friday night from 6 until 9 p.m. at Zoo Atlanta’s Savanna Nights. Sip a cocktail or mocktail as you gaze at African elephants, zebras and flamingos. There will be activities, live music, food and snacks.
  • Wednesdays through Saturdays throughout August, InterContinental Buckhead is having a summer soiree. Sip hand-crafted cocktails at the Belvedere Infusion Garden Wall, adorned with flowers and lush greenery. Music will be provided by the hotel’s house musicians. The Americano will provide small bites. This event occurs from 4 until 9 p.m.
  • Stone Mountain Park’s Colors of India Festival and Light Show, Saturday and Sunday, brings a family-friendly drone and light show, a colors of India parade, plus decor, cultural performances of traditional and more modern Bollywood-style dances, music, food trucks and more.

  • Atlanta Humane Society joins the list of notable places in Atlanta that sport one of the city’s unique Tiny Doors. The reveal is set for noon until 4 p.m. Saturday.
  • 10th Annual Cobb International Film Festival – 8/1/24 – 8/4/24 – Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre
  • Atlantic Station hosts Creator’s Market from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon until 7 p.m. Sundays, every weekend through December.

  • Colony Square plans a Parliament of Owls Midtown Lantern Parade Saturday from 8 until 10 p.m. Parliament of Owls is a black and white owl-themed community lantern parade featuring a brass band and parade-goers marching down Peachtree Street. Parade attire is black and white. You do need an owl lantern to march in the parade. This year, the route will pass through the new Midtown Art Walk.
  • Centennial Yards’ Friday Vibe event is happening at the Steele Bridge Friday night from 5 until 9 p.m. There will be music, food and activities 
  • Little 5 Points Historic Walking Tours.

  • The East Lake Foundation proudly hosts the Run for East Lake 5K & Fun Run. This dynamic event, presented by the East Lake Family YMCA, promises an exhilarating journey through the heart of the East Lake community.
  • Chattahoochee Nature Center invites you to enjoy Breakfast with Butterflies on Sunday from 10 a.m. until noon. There will be a light breakfast. You will encounter several species of butterflies and explore the grounds prior to opening.

  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse opens Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” this weekend. Rosalind disguises herself as a man as Orlando litters the trees with love notes praising her beauty and virtue. Will the two lovers be united? Will Orlando survive the wrestling match? See it Friday through July 27.
  • A Fernbank Museum of Natural History exhibit brings 18 larger-than-life metal sculptures of flowers and animals to the nature trails in WildWoods, The exhibit, “Forest Forms,” features sculptures inspired by nature and created by Huelani Mei. The sculptures include a fox family, flowers, rabbits, a snake archway, a peacock and more. “Forest Forms” will be open at Fernbank through Sept. 29.
  • The exhibit, “Tyler Mitchell: Idyllic Space” at the High Museum of Art, features the photographer and filmmaker’s works that center on Black self-determination and empowerment through scenes of love, leisure and camaraderie. Mitchell rose to global prominence in 2018 when he photographed Beyoncé for the September issue of Vogue as the first Black artist to shoot the cover in the magazine’s then 126-year history. See the exhibit through Dec. 1.

  • Westside Motor Lodge is where you’ll want to be on Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. to celebrate that summertime favorite, the tomato, during the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival. Expect tomato-themed food and cocktails.
  • Buckhead Restaurant Week continues through Saturday. It’s your chance to indulge in the finest flavors in Buckhead. The neighborhood’s top restaurants offer exclusive menus and good deals.

  • The CDC Museum is exhibiting a multimedia exhibit showcasing works that were borne of the pandemic. Soon after people started isolating in March 2020, artists took to their studios, desks and Zoom to bear witness to and process the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Chamblee: City Hall Green Space – The city of Chamblee will host a family-oriented Fourth of July celebration again in 2024. The summer concert and fireworks will take place from 5 until 10 p.m. on July 4. The location is the new Chamblee City Hall, located at 3518 Broad St., in the downtown Chamblee entertainment district. There will be live music, fireworks, food and activities for kids and families. 
  • Decatur: Downtown – Decatur’s Fourth of July Pied Piper Parade starts at 6 p.m. It wends through downtown with floats, wagons, and bicycles. Music at the community bandstand starts at 7 pm. Fireworks begin at approximately 9.pm.
  • Dunwoody: Streets of Dunwoody – Dunwoody’s Fourth of July celebration draws more than 2,500 participants and more than 35,000 spectators. This year’s theme is “Red, White & YOU.” Considered the largest Independence Day parade in the state of Georgia, it features floats, marching bands, vintage cars, clowns and animals. Parade spectators are encouraged to set up chairs along Mount Vernon Road and circle around the Dunwoody Village Parkway into Dunwoody Village. 
  • Johns Creek: Newtown Park – The city of Johns Creek celebrates our country’s independence at Newtown Park with live music, activities, food and a fireworks display from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 3. The free event features food trucks and music from the band Boogilicious. 
  • Lawrenceville: Lawrenceville Lawn – The city of Lawrenceville will host a special Prelude to the Fourth from 5 until 10 p.m. on July 3. Guests are invited to gather on the Lawrenceville Lawn for a festive, free family-friendly event. 
  • Marietta: Fourth in the Park – The City of Marietta’s 4th In The Park Celebration begins at 10 a.m. on July 4 and includes a parade, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.  
  • Roswell: Roswell Area Park – The city of Roswell plans a July 4 celebration beginning at 6 p.m. in Roswell Area Park. 
  • Sandy Springs: City Springs – The Sandy Springs Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration at City Springs begins at 4 p.m., accompanied by the tunes of the band A-Town A-List starting at 7:30 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. 
  • Stone Mountain Park – Stone Mountain Park’s Fantastic Fourth celebration runs July 1-7. Visitors are invited to enjoy family attractions and live entertainment, followed by the new Music Across America Light Show. Tickets are required for the light show and fireworks.

  • Head to Oakland Cemetery on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a celebration for the whole family. Learn about the significance of Juneteenth while you enjoy live music, food vendors, children’s storytelling, a vendor market, a libations ceremony and more. Free tours of the historic African-American burial grounds will also be available, but registration is required.
  • The National Center for Civil and Human Rights will remember Juneteenth Saturday, Sunday and June 19. On Saturday there will be quilt mural, a scavenger hunt, trivia and outdoor activities. Sunday brings quilt mural, a scavenger hunt, trivia and Juneteenth flag making. June 19 offers a performance, a scavenger hunt, trivia, flag making and outdoor activities.
  • Stop by Fernbank Museum of Natural History Friday for Fernbank After Dark. A ticket for the 7 to 11 p.m. event grants you full museum access, including the new “A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature” exhibit. Also, enjoy tapas, cocktails, live music and activities like meeting some of the in-house invertebrates, learning about phantom limbs and guessing what’s in a box based on touch.
  • Reynoldstown Farmer’s Market – Located in the shady parking lot in front of Lang Carson Recreation Center at 100 Flat Shoals Ave, SE Atlanta, the market is just 100 yards off the Beltline. Join the neighbors of Reynoldstown Sundays from noon to 3pm for this festive market.

  • The Center for Puppetry Arts is showing “Sesame Street The Musical through Aug. 4. 
  • Kids Video Connection, Inc. will present the 17th annual Atlanta Children’s Film Festival (ACFF) from June 7 – 23, 2024. The ACFF features two and a half weeks of eye-opening and exciting activities, including film screenings and workshops for children, teens, and industry professionals. 
  • UniverSoul Circus flies high at Atlantic Station through Sunday. Featuring stars from five continents, all backed by the beat of World Music, UniverSoul Circus reimagines itself this year with more than a dozen culturally diverse performances. The circus features never-before-seen acts from Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic and Mongolia as well as an 18-person flying trapeze act from China.
  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden presents “Alice’s Wonderland Returns” Saturday through Sept. 15. The exhibit features seven installations of 22 of the topiary-like mosaiculture pieces throughout the garden. 
  • A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature – On view June 8 – Sept. 9, 2024 at Fernbank Museum.

Sports, fitness & outdoors:

  • Atlanta Streets Alive opens Peachtree Street between 15th and Mitchell streets to pedestrians Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Wear your walking shoes, bring your bike, show off your roller skating skills. Mostly, enjoy Atlanta’s most famous street without the traffic.  
  • Atlanta United hosts Houston Dynamo FC at 7:30 pm. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
  • The game between the Atlanta Dream and the Los Angeles Sparks tips off at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gateway Center Arena. 
  • A three-game series between the Atlanta Braves and the Tampa Bay Rays happens Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Truist Park. First pitch on Friday is at 7:20 p.m., and the game will be followed by Friday Night Fireworks. Saturday’s game gets under way at 4:10 p.m. It is Play Ball Weekend at the ballpark so the first 250 kids at Playball Alley will receive a Franklin bat and ball set. On Sunday, game time is 1:35 p.m., and Play Ball Weekend continues. 
  • Piedmont Park’s most popular fitness class is back! This 1.5 hour strength building, core sculpting, heart pumping pool workout is perfect for the summer! Be prepared for for a circuit-training, total-body class for the first 45 minutes of class (wear tennis shoes). Please bring swimwear for the second half of class.  8:30am to 10:00am **1.5 HOUR CLASS!!**Saturdays June 4-July 16 .

  • Hammonds House Museum presents “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” through Aug. 18. 
  • Hammonds House Museum opens a new exhibit on Friday. “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” runs through Aug. 18. A master of collage, Middleton’s compositions weave together musical scores, photographs and graphic elements in a dance of color and form. His art is a testament to the enduring influence of jazz.
  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse is showing Ken Ludwig’s “The Three Musketeers” through June 30.

  • It’s back. The Virginia Highland Summerfest takes over the streets of this intown neighborhood Saturday and Sunday. There will be an artists’ market, live music, a 5K fun run, a kidsfest and a Friday night kick-off party.
  • The 12th annual Atlanta Fringe Festival continues through Sunday. The festival includes live theater, dance, comedy, storytelling, puppetry and more. Venues include the East Atlanta Kids Club, 7 Stages Theatre, the Marianna at Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Limelight Theater, Metropolitan Studios and Dynamic El Dorado.
