  • SCAD TVfest: True Crime – This event features panel discussions, exclusive screenings and insightful Q&A sessions with prominent figures in the field.   • FUNNY GIRL, the sensational musical comedy revival, is coming to Atlanta’s Fox Theatre for a limited one-week engagement from July 30 – Aug. 4 as part of the Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2023/2024 season.   • Sunday Funday – Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) – Explore the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) for Sunday Funday! Beat the heat by customizing your own handheld fan with markers and paint pens.   • UniverSoul Circus flies high at Atlantic Station through Sunday. Featuring stars from five continents, all backed by the beat of World Music, UniverSoul Circus reimagines itself this year with more than a dozen culturally diverse performances. The circus features never-before-seen acts from Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic and Mongolia as well as an 18-person flying trapeze act from China.

  • Chamblee: City Hall Green Space – The city of Chamblee will host a family-oriented Fourth of July celebration again in 2024. The summer concert and fireworks will take place from 5 until 10 p.m. on July 4. The location is the new Chamblee City Hall, located at 3518 Broad St., in the downtown Chamblee entertainment district. There will be live music, fireworks, food and activities for kids and families. 
  • Decatur: Downtown – Decatur’s Fourth of July Pied Piper Parade starts at 6 p.m. It wends through downtown with floats, wagons, and bicycles. Music at the community bandstand starts at 7 pm. Fireworks begin at approximately 9.pm.
  • Dunwoody: Streets of Dunwoody – Dunwoody’s Fourth of July celebration draws more than 2,500 participants and more than 35,000 spectators. This year’s theme is “Red, White & YOU.” Considered the largest Independence Day parade in the state of Georgia, it features floats, marching bands, vintage cars, clowns and animals. Parade spectators are encouraged to set up chairs along Mount Vernon Road and circle around the Dunwoody Village Parkway into Dunwoody Village. 
  • Johns Creek: Newtown Park – The city of Johns Creek celebrates our country’s independence at Newtown Park with live music, activities, food and a fireworks display from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 3. The free event features food trucks and music from the band Boogilicious. 
  • Lawrenceville: Lawrenceville Lawn – The city of Lawrenceville will host a special Prelude to the Fourth from 5 until 10 p.m. on July 3. Guests are invited to gather on the Lawrenceville Lawn for a festive, free family-friendly event. 
  • Marietta: Fourth in the Park – The City of Marietta’s 4th In The Park Celebration begins at 10 a.m. on July 4 and includes a parade, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.  
  • Roswell: Roswell Area Park – The city of Roswell plans a July 4 celebration beginning at 6 p.m. in Roswell Area Park. 
  • Sandy Springs: City Springs – The Sandy Springs Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration at City Springs begins at 4 p.m., accompanied by the tunes of the band A-Town A-List starting at 7:30 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. 
  • Stone Mountain Park – Stone Mountain Park’s Fantastic Fourth celebration runs July 1-7. Visitors are invited to enjoy family attractions and live entertainment, followed by the new Music Across America Light Show. Tickets are required for the light show and fireworks.

  • Be one of 150,000 spectators cheering on the 60,000 participants in the country’s largest road race. The AJC Peachtree Road Race takes place along the course’s 10-kilometer route from Peachtree Road at Lenox Square Mall to Piedmont Park

  • Meditate with the Butterflies at Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) Sunday from 10 a.m. until noon. This quiet time occurs before CNC opens to the public. It is an opportunity to experience butterflies in a new way.

Saturday’s game begins at 7:15 p.m. Fans who come early can enjoy the music of Party Nation on the Georgia Pavilion stage prior to the first pitch. On Sunday, Kids Run the Bases Day, first pitch occurs at 1:35 p.m. On July 4, at home, the Braves wrap up a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants. That game begins at 7:20 p.m.

  • The High Museum of Art opens the exhibit, “Tyler Mitchell: Idyllic Space” on Friday. Mitchell is an American photographer and filmmaker renowned for his portrayals that center Black self-determination and empowerment through scenes of love, leisure and camaraderie. 
  • Alpharetta Art in the Park at Brooke Street Park! – 6/29/24 – 6/30/24
  • The exhibit “Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” is open at the High Museum of Art. 
  • An exhibit opening at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday brings 18 larger-than-life metal sculptures of flowers and animals to the nature trails in WildWoods, The exhibit, “Forest Forms,” features sculptures inspired by nature and created by Huelani Mei. The sculptures include a fox family, flowers, rabbits, a snake archway, a peacock and more. “Forest Forms” will be open at Fernbank through Sept. 29.
  • Hammonds House Museum presents “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” through Aug. 18.

  • The Pittsburgh Pirates are in town this weekend to face the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. First pitch on Friday night is at 7:20 p.m., and, as always on Friday nights at the ballpark, the game will be followed by fireworks. On Saturday, game time is 4:10 p.m., and it is Georgia Tribe Night when the Atlanta Braves recognize members and dignitaries of the Lower Muscogee Creek Tribe, the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee, the Cherokee of Georgia Tribal Council and members of the Georgia Council on American Indian concerns. Sunday is Kids Run the Bases Day. Game time is 11:35 a.m. 
  • The Southeast Plant Show is a plant filled 2 day event showcasing local and international houseplant nurseries, specialty houseplant collectors and artisans. It is an opportunity to slow down, unplug, de-stress and practice presence in the moment. The experience is inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, which translates to “forest bathing,” a chance to soak in the therapeutic benefits of being present in nature. 
  • Come out to the Broad Street Boardwalk for 60 minutes of all-levels vinyasa flow each Saturday morning at 10:00 AM! Yoga classes are open to the public and FREE to attend with an RSVP.   • Explore 10 stunning homes, a local gallery and a museum, all offering insights into West End’s rich history and unique architecture. Be there Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. for the West End Tour of Homes and Gardens.
  • Fourth Ward Park is the site of the Summer Beer Fest, happening from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be live music plus a DJ and, oh yeah, 150 beers. Are you an IPO or a stout?
  • The Interlock is turning three and what better way to celebrate than with a community block party! From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, the West Midtown neighborhood is invited to enjoy a live DJ, food and drink specials from everyone’s favorite spots, a variety of vendors, refreshing treats, giveaways and more. 
  • Friday night at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights brings Truth on the Rocks, a celebration of the center’s 10th anniversary, which includes dancing, cocktails and conversation. The center celebrates Juneteenth on Sunday with a quilt mural, a scavenger hunt, trivia and Juneteenth flag making. June 19 offers a performance, a scavenger hunt, trivia, flag making and outdoor activities.

  • Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., visit the Indie Craft Experience at Monday Night Garage. Shop 60 local craft, vintage and food vendors and snag a free tote bag if you are among the first 100 people in line.
  • Hammonds House Museum opens a new exhibit on Friday. “Rhythm of Resilience: The Artistry of Sam Middleton” runs through Aug. 18. A master of collage, Middleton’s compositions weave together musical scores, photographs and graphic elements in a dance of color and form. His art is a testament to the enduring influence of jazz.
  • The Sound Waves Music Series kicks off Friday night at Georgia Aquarium. Every Friday from April 26 through May, Georgia Aquarium’s Sound Waves celebrates the arts, diversity and local talent. Enjoy live music with enhanced lighting and atmospheric elements in the atrium to complement the artists. You will have access to the aquarium’s galleries, included with general admission. Sound Waves occurs from 5 until 8 p.m.
  • MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta) opens the exhibit “Al Dente: The Design of Pasta” on Friday.
  • The Georgia Renaissance Festival, a trek back to the 16th century, opens Saturday and runs weekends through June 2.
  • The Balloon Museum at Pullman Yards is flying high through June 9.
  • Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE is on display at Phipps Plaza Saturday through May 22. You will see a curated collection of 12 one-of-a-kind fresh floral mannequins. On Saturday, you can watch free floral demonstrations, shop for fresh blooms from local florists at a pop-up flower market and have the opportunity to meet the 12 floral teams behind Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE.

  • The annual Kirkwood Spring Fling Festival & Tour of Homes showcases Atlanta’s historic & vibrant Kirkwood neighborhood. Join thousands of residents from throughout the metro area in Bessie Branham Park for a day of sun, fun and community. 
  • Atlanta Streets Alive opens Peachtree Street from 15th Street to Mitchell Street to pedestrians on Sunday from 1 until 5 p.m. Glide on your skateboard, pedal you bicycle or let your feet to the work. Most importantly, have fun.
  • The Georgia Craft Brewers Festival pours a few on Saturday at Westside Paper. In addition to the brews, there will be music, local food, social meet-ups and a maker’s market. The festival will feature 50 participating breweries from across Georgia. The festival occurs from 1 until 5 p.m.
  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden presents “Alice’s Wonderland Returns” Saturday through Sept. 15. The exhibit features seven installations of 22 of the topiary-like mosaiculture pieces throughout the garden. 
  • UniverSoul Circus vaults into Atlantic Station this weekend and will fly high through June 2. 
  • The second annual Latino Family Festival take place the first three weekends in May at Stone Mountain Park. Enjoy a celebration of Latino music, dance and culture, featuring live international talent including dancers, musicians, a marching band, all-new festive parade and a massive drone and light show. Join in the fun Saturdays and Sundays May 4 — 19.
  • “Threads of Justice,” a pop-up exhibit at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, celebrates American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The exhibit, inspired by the 1985 Garment Workers’ strike in Chinatown, showcases the work of 12 artists to honor Asian American experiences. See it through May 31.
  • Reynoldstown Farmer’s Market – Located in the shady parking lot in front of Lang Carson Recreation Center at 100 Flat Shoals Ave, SE Atlanta, the market is just 100 yards off the Beltline. Join the neighbors of Reynoldstown Sundays from noon to 3pm for this festive market.

  • Take your children to the Marietta History Center for an opportunity to explore and enjoy a day of crafts and activities.   • The Atlanta Braves host the San Diego Padres this weekend for a four-game series at Truist Park. 
  • The 11th annual Midtown Garden Stroll, a free event, is Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. in the Historic Midtown Garden District on Penn Avenue. The stroll is an outdoor self-guided tour. You can expect to see formal gardens, casual gardens, fountains, espalier, backyard beekeeping, intricate brickwork and inspiring ideas for family yards. You may also visit the Garden Stroll Market where local artisans will showcase their creations, live musicians will play and a Midtown artist will complete a live painting. Tasty bites and drinks are also offered by Atlanta-based restauranteurs.

  • Midtown Assistance Center (MAC) plans its 10th annual Midtown Race for MAC 5K at Piedmont Park on Saturday. Since its inaugural race in 2014, the Midtown Race for MAC has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide essential emergency assistance to low-income working Atlantans. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. near Park Tavern and Midtown High School.
