More fun things!

  • The annual Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival is scheduled for March 23 and 24, 2024 from 10AM to 6PM in Brookhaven’s Blackburn Park. This FREE festival includes performances from National headliners, +LIVE+, Barenaked Ladies, Moon Taxi, Crash Test Dummies, and more! The family-friendly festival has a little fun for everyone – a Saturday morning Classic Car Show, Artist Market, Kidz Zone, Food Trucks, and a 5K race on Saturday, March 16. 
  • Butterfly Lantern Parade – March 23rd in Hapeville. Enjoy local art vendors, food, and our creation station! The parade will begin at 8:10 in the park and everyone is always invited to make a butterfly lantern and walk in the parade with Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons and Seed & Feed Marching Abominables! Parade attire is floral galore!
  • The Balloon Museum at Pullman Yards is flying high through April 14.
  • The Atlanta Fair is cruising into town once again from MARCH 1 – APRIL 7, 2024, across from the Georgia State Stadium, in the lot at the intersection of Central Ave SW and Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. 
  • The Lake Lanier Boat Show is scheduled for March 22-24 on the docks of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands.

  • March 24th at 3PM – Easter Egg Hunt and Family Activities at Bessie Branham Park
  • Join the Atlanta History Center for their second annual Easter Egg Hunt on the beautiful Swan House lawn. This family-friendly program includes egg hunts (for ages 1–3 and 4–10), face-painting, a balloon artist, sheep shearing demonstration, photos with the Easter Bunny, and more.
  • It is time for the 15th Annual West End Egg Hunt Saturday, March 23 at 10 AM. Come out for food, fun, and hundreds of eggs for children 12 and under. 
  • The Easter Bunny and RNA board wanted to invite everyone from the neighborhood to the 4th Annual Riverside Easter Egg Hunt. 
  • NINJAGO: Dragon’s Rising March 21st – 24th from 10-5 PM at LEGO Discovery Center
  • The Atlanta Science Festival hosts it’s two weeks of science-related activities on Saturday. Kids and adults alike can dive into a range of topics ranging from coding and astronomy to nature walks and robotics. The festival culminates in the Exploration Expo (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23 in Piedmont Park). It is a free, family-friendly event with hands-on activities and shows.
  • Dino Festival at Stone Mountain Park runs through April 28. Check the Stone Mountain Park website for specific times and dates for various events.
  • The popular exhibit Flora, Fauna & Flight returns to Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday March 23rd and continues through June 23. 
  • “Spiders — From Fear to Fascination” is on view at Fernbank Museum of Natural History through May 5. 
  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta hosts “Outside the Box”. The exhibit runs through May 5. “Outside the Box” aims to fuel children’s imaginations by unleashing a world of timeless fun.

  • The Women’s Comedy Film Festival starts at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Limelight Theatre and promises laughter, entertainment and recognition of exceptional talent in the comedy film industry.
  • “The Merchant of Venice,” a LadyShakes Production, is showing at Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse through March 30. 
  • A Tale of Two Cities” opens on the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola stage this week and continues through March 17. 
  •  The Emperor’s New Clothes at the Center For Puppetry Arts from  3/15/24 – 3/24/24.
  • Atlanta Ballet Cinderella  runs from 3/16/24 to 3/17/24 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
  • Join Host Ian Aber as he brings 90 minutes of the funniest comedians in Atlanta, the Southeast, and Beyond all in the spacious tasting room at UrbanTree Cidery. Limited tickets will be sold. Doors are at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm!
  • Spring is near, which means it’s time to mark your calendar for Hapeville’s annual Butterfly Lantern Parade next week. Make your own magnificent monarch to flutter as you march in the parade at one of six butterfly lantern puppet workshops leading up to the big day!
  • St Patricks Day with Live Irish Folkstyle on 3/17/24 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Calendar: at Elsewhere Brewing Co.
  • Pullman Yards is launching a new and permanent extension of its Chefs Market series! Starting March 16, Chefs Market will take place every weekend. The farmers market-meets-bustling bazaar will expand from its current model to include a wide array of cultures and ready-to-eat cuisines, while focusing on highlighting small businesses, local artisans, purveyors and beyond.

  • Atlanta’s annual St. Patrick’s Parade steps off at noon on Saturday at the corner of Peachtree and 15th streets and continues down to Fifth Street. The parade features floats, animal groups, bands, bagpipe & drum corps, children, clowns, dancers and drill teams as well as Irish and local dignitaries. And, as you know, everybody will be Irish on Saturday.
  • The Atlanta Fair is cruising into town once again from MARCH 1 – APRIL 7, 2024, across from the Georgia State Stadium, in the lot at the intersection of Central Ave SW and Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. 
  • The 4th annual Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Tour of Kitchens returns in 2024 for a two-day event providing house-loving Atlantans with in-person access to the best kitchen-design professionals in the city. Enjoy a self-guided tour of Atlanta’s most impressive private residential kitchens. 
  • Get ready to go green and celebrate in style at Park Tavern’s Shamrock Fest 2024!  The event will be filled with music, fun, and festivity. Dogs welcome.
  • Join early risers Sunday March 17th for a St. Patrick’s Day Brunch Block Party in Virginia Highland. If you don’t know by now you will…Virginia Highland has some of best brunch spots in Atlanta.

See high-flying dinosaurs, dinosaurs in 4-D, a lighted dinosaur-themed parade, plus a special dinosaur drone and light show. Check the Stone Mountain Park website for specific times and dates for various events.
  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrates St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday. Among the planned activities are folklore story time feeaturing “Finn MacCool and the Giant’s Causeway” that follows Finn as he outsmarts the Red Giant. Kids will learn how to dance an Irish jig, sing a classic Irish-American lullaby or make their own Celtic knot art.
  • The Toddler Takeover for children from birth through 5 years old is set for Saturday and Sunday at the Woodruff Arts Center. Events include performances of the Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young, art-making at the High Museum of Art, activities with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musicians and more.

  • The 8th Annual Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K Walk/Run is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier for runners and walkers of all levels! This fun St. Patrick’s Day themed race will take place Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 8:00am (welcome & warm-up at 7:30am) at the Marietta Square, 75 East Park Square, Marietta, GA.
  • The Atlanta Hawks play the New Orleans Pelicans at 6 p.m. Sunday at State Farm Arena. 
  • Get ready to flow to the beat of Lizzo’s hits at our Hip Hop Yoga class!  Join Sweetwater Taproom on March 17th at 11am for a yoga experience like no other. Your ticket includes a refreshing beer and an energizing yoga session. Best of all, it’s for a great cause – proceeds benefit TNP Foundation’s Yoga for Youth program!

  • Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is playing at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Friday and Sunday. 
  • A Tale of Two Cities” opens on the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola stage this week and continues through March 17. 
  • Parsons Dance performs at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rialto Center for the Arts. The company is known for contemporary American dance.
  • Subtronics, the boundary-pushing genre-bending bass music artist, is gearing up to embark on his most impressive tour to date, the TESSERACT Tour, scheduled for early 2024. See them at State Farm Arena on Friday, March 8, 2024.
  • Friday night at the High Museum of Art brings Oasis. From 6 until 9 p.m. you may tour the galleries without the crowds, drop in for a yoga class or enjoy a glass of wine and a quiet conversation.
  • Sunday is UPS Second Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. The High offers free admission for all visitors and special family-friendly programming. Enjoy art-making activities, performances and the museum’s collection and special exhibitions.
  • Join the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra for their second concert of the season, led by Associate Conductor William R. Langley. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance.

Youngsters will learn about the impact of Black innovators and artists.

  • Attend the Atlanta Vibe game Saturday night for a celebration on Women in Sports and Business. The Vibe is taking on the Vegas Thrill at 7 p.m. at Gas South Arena.
  • Atlanta United FC faces the New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta United is ranked 13th, New England 14th in the Eastern Conference.
  • The Atlanta Hawks play the New Orleans Pelicans at 6 p.m. Sunday at State Farm Arena. 
  • Georgia Aquarium’s Sea Otter 5K is Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. The Peachtree Qualifier 3.1-mile course is a quick “out and back” run/jog/walk recommended for ages 8 and up.
  • The 40th Annual Hunger Walk/Run, hosted by the Atlanta Community Food Bank, is Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. at the Home Depot Backyard. It provides a chance to make a difference in the fight against hunger in Georgia.

  • ABV Gallery and Wild Heaven Beer are partnering up for a special edition of ABV’s monthly event Drink and Doodle at Wild Heaven’s West End location. From 6-10 PM on March 1st, 60 local ATL artists will showcase their creativity and produce original works live throughout the evening. All the artwork will be available in a silent online auction starting as the pieces are finished. Wild Heaven’s bar will be selling wine, beer, and seltzers and El Tesoro will be serving their traditional taqueria menu items until 9 PM.

  • David Foster & Katharine Mcphee at Atlanta Symphony Hall – 3/3/24
  • Last Weekend for ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at Shakespeare Tavern
  • Saturday is First Saturday at the High Museum of Art. There are family tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Toddler Saturday runs from 10 a.m. until noon. The whole family can participate in art making from 1 until 3 p.m. Teen Art Afternoon occurs from 2 until 4 p.m. From 1 until 3 p.m., it’s Drawing from Experience. And from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. the High offers Studio Sessions: Wire Portraits.

  • The Atlanta Jewish Life Festival occurs Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Georgia Aquarium. There will be performances, family activities, kosher food and a Mitzvah Madness hoops contest.
  • Atlanta’s Night of Ideas occurs Friday from 5 until 11 p.m. at Atlanta History Center. Guests will explore the theme of urban mutations through the lenses of the environment, Afro-futurism and artistic expression. It is an annual marathon of philosophical debates, performances, readings and more.   
  • Come get the ultimate tattoo festival experience at the 7th Annual Atlanta Tattoo Arts Festival. Tattoos, piercing, art and entertainment. There is something for everyone.

  • Bubbles & Brews is a month-long celebration of Cobb County’s local craft beverage makers. Each March, craft beverage enthusiasts can travel to Cobb’s breweries, distilleries, and wineries to sample each location’s unique beverages. ‘BrewPass’ passports guide visitors to each location where they can collect stamps and earn special prizes from Cobb Travel & Tourism. 
  • Atlanta Brunch Festival at Atlantic Staton – Saturday 12-4 PM
  • Have an unforgettable night with candle lights concerts, a series of original music concerts created by Fever aimed at democratizing access to classical music by allowing people to enjoy live music performances played by local musicians in various stunning locations, illuminated by thousands of candles.

  • “Aladdin” is on stage at the Fox Theatre through Sunday. 
  • After selling out last time, David Nihill is back at City Winery with his new show, Shelf Help.
  • Come play with the magic of watercolors, and join The Atlanta Watercolor community as you release expectations, and let the water do the work! Attendees will be painting a bright pink Camellia flower. The instructor will guide the group through a step-by-step method to recreate this peaceful floral.
  • Garden Lights, Holiday Nights, the award-winning light extravaganza at Atlanta Botanical Garden, is open through Sunday. 
  • Friday Night’s Fernbank After Dark brings after-hour access to Fernbank’s exhibits including WildWoods: AGLOW, themed activities and music by Ansley Stewart. Her music echoes 1960s’ soul singers combined with the Athens, Ga., college radio waves of the 1990s.
  • At 7 p.m. Saturday, The Breman presents the Afro-Semitic Experience, a band that celebrates diversity, promotes social justice and inspires hope and joy. The music blends Jewish and African American music and draws from influences including traditional Jewish melodies, gospel, blues and jazz.
  • The Cirque du Soleil show “Echo” is open under the big top at Atlantic Station.  
  • See “Pericles: Prince of Tyre” at Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse Saturday through Jan. 27. 
  • The exhibit, “Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature” is on display at the High Museum of Art and runs through Sunday. And The High Museum of Art also presents the exhibit, “A Long Arc: Photography and the American South since 1845.”
  • Atlanta’s CDC Museum has opened the exhibit, “Ghosts of Segregation: Photographs of Rich Frishman.” The exhibit explores the lingering presence of segregation, slavery and institutional racism hidden in everyday American architecture.

  • MLK Weekend is Here. Celebrate the life and legacy of MLK at one of several events in town. Remember to make MLK Day “a day on, not a day off.”
    • The King Center plans a number of activities in January, including the Beloved Community Awards on Jan. 13 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. 
    • On Jan. 12, The King Center will rally educators, students, educational institutions and learning organizations across the world to participate in our Beloved Community Teach-In. 
    • The HBCU Culture Battle of the Bands is planned for Jan. 14 at State Farm Arena. 
    • Georgia Tech will commemorate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the 13th Annual MLK Lecture from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 featuring Maya Wiley, lawyer, professor and civil rights activist. 
    • On Jan. 15, Ebenezer Baptist Church plans the Martin Luther King Jr. Beloved Community Commemorative Service with featured speaker the Rev. Shavon Arline Bradley. president and CEO of the National Council of Negro Women.
    • Hands on Atlanta presents MLK Day 2024 Jan. 11-15. Thousands of Atlantans will unite in service in celebration of the King Holiday. 
    • The Atlanta History Center commemorates Dr. King’s legacy from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Jan. 15, with a variety of public activities including civil rights-themed trivia, crafts, kids activities, panel discussions and more.
    • In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., admission to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights will be free on Jan. 13. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so book yours online.
    • Oakland Cemetery is planning a morning of service on Jan. 15 as a way of honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Volunteers may help the cemetery with tree planting, garden beautification and clean up from 9 a.m. until noon. Check Oakland’s website for sign up and further details.

For the family:

  • The Children’s Museum of Atlanta will celebrate Martin Luther King Weekend Jan. 13-15. mong the scheduled events are: watercolor portraits and quotes in the art studio. The Morph Gallery will be laid out as a timeline through Dr. King’s life, with 39 steps (footprints) through the area to symbolize his 39 years of life with fun activities. Children will also be invited onto the Children’s Museum stage to celebrate MLK’s birthday and boogie on down for a Birthday Dance Party and walk around the museum together in a Birthday Parade.
  • Join a FREE Sing Along of Frozen at the Plaza theater! Bring the family for an afternoon party with free popcorn and drink.
  • Do you remember the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper, where the hard-working ants are preparing for winter while the fun-loving grasshopper plays? Members of your Atlanta Symphony will bring this fable to life during an interactive program that is aimed at children ages 3 to 8, which includes a storyteller and classical music you’ll recognize. 
  • Stop in at Fernbank Museum of Natural History to discover how rocks and minerals form and change over time with a little help from water, volcanoes and the movement of Earth itself. This event, recommended for ages 6 and older, runs from 2 until 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Also on Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. until noon, drop into Fernbank to meet a Fernbank forest ranger to learn more about the outdoors.
  • IllumiNights: A Chinese Lantern Festival is open at Zoo Atlanta through Sunday.
  • Wildwoods: AGLOW at Fernbank Museum of Natural History will remain open on select nights through Feb. 25.
  • Emotions at Play with Pixar’s “Inside Out” is open at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta through Sunday.
  • Westside Sports League is a Year-round program for youth in grades 3rd to 12th. Youth participate in sports such as baseball, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball.

Sports, fitness & outdoors:

  • To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., all national parks, including Atlanta’s Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park offer free entry on Jan. 15. And, of course, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park is always free.
  • Join Tissot, the Official Timekeeper of the NBA at Dillard’s (Perimeter Mall) on January 14th, 2024, from 4:00PM until 5:30PM ET for a chance to meet legendary basketball player, Clint Capela!
  • Enjoy the Avondale Estates Farmer’s Market this Sunday.
  • It’s time for the Discover Boating Atlanta Boat Show at the Georgia World Congress Center. 
  • The Atlanta Hawks host the Indiana Pacers at 7:30 p.m. Friday and the Washington Wizards at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. See both games at State Farm Arena. The Friday game will feature a special halftime performance by Tasha Cobbs Leonard. 
  • Watch amateur basketball at Atlantic Station’s Overtime Elite Arena this weekend.
  • Join BikeChurchAtl for a Bike Ride this Sunday. We meet at 10:00am at Finca to Filter in Wild Heaven at Lee and White. Come early and grab a coffee. Stay after for tacos and cycling camaraderie!
  • Skate the Station is still at Atlantic Station, and all are invited to skate under the stars through Jan 15th!

  • The College Football Hall of Fame and Coca-Cola are embracing the giving spirit of the holiday season, partnering once again to present the annual college student ID promotion. With this promotion, the first 500 students who provide a valid college student ID between now and January 8, will receive complimentary admission to the Hall of Fame
