  • Widespread Panic performs at the Fox Theatre on New Year’s Eve. Showtime: 8 p.m.
  • New Year’s Eve with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra begins at 8 p.m. at Byers Theatre, City Springs. The program includes the waltz from Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake,” Mendelssohn’s nocturne from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Rossini’s overture from “La gazza ladra,” Offenbach’s “Can-Can,” Strauss waltzes and more. 
  • Deck the Halls with Dad’s Garage and Horizon Theatre this season when “Y’allmark Christmas: An Improvised Holiday ‘Movie,’” returns.  Dec. 19 through Dec. 30
  • “Madeline’s Christmas” is playing at Horizon Theatre through Dec. 31. 
  • Dad’s Garage brought back its cult-classic holiday show “Invasion Christmas Carol.” The show runs through Dec. 30.

  • Free Yoga: Namaste through the holidays at Uptown Atlanta as we offer a three week series that features the Gifts of Yoga.
  • The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Kicks off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at noon on Saturday. The Ole Miss Rebels face the Penn State Nittany Lions. Prior to the kick-off, the football-themed Peach Bowl parade steps off at 8 a.m., featuring floats, bands, classic cars, cheerleaders, mascots and much more. The parade starts at Centennial Olympic Park and Baker Street and concludes at FanFest at the Georgia World Congress Center at 9:30 a.m.
  • The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl FanFest built by The Home Depot runs from 8 a.m. until noon. The FanFest is an indoor fan experience featuring 200,000 square feet of interactive attractions like punting, passing and kicking games, obstacle courses and zip lining. 
  • The Atlanta Hawks play the Sacramento Kings at State Farm Arena Friday at 7:30 p.m. 
  • Find serenity and chart the course for 2024 at Distillery of Modern Art’s New Year’s Eve yoga class.

  • Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting Events have now passed.
  • The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library’s new holiday exhibit, “Holidays at the Carter White House,” is open through Jan. 6, 2024. There are a number of items that have never been displayed before including the menorah used for the 1979 Celebration of the Festival of Lights (the first time a president participated in a national celebration of Hanukkah), a 500-year-old painting depicting the nativity, Christmas stockings and much more. 
  • Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World is on display at Fernbank Museum of Natural History through Jan. 7, 2024. Among the highlights are representations of cultural traditions from all over the world; relevant artistry; and holiday staples.

  • November’s Friday Jazz at the High Museum of Art occurs Friday from 6 until 10 p.m. Enjoy a drink and light bites before heading to the galleries to explore the works on view. 
  • The First Voices Festival returns to 7 Stages Theatre on Friday and continues through Nov 24. The evening of Nov. 17 brings storytelling and music with Muscogee (Creek) elder and fine flute maker William Harjo. On Nov. 18 and 19, the soccer field in Little 5 Points will be filled with dancers, musicians, vendors and visitors to the only Pow Wow in the city of Atlanta. On Nov. 24, Plaza Theatre will screen “Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World,” a documentary about the influence of indigenous people on rock ‘n’ roll.
  • Follow the yellow brick road to Atlanta because the Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz is headed to Fox Theatre for seven performances in November, 2023.
  • The new Cirque du Soleil show “Echo” runs at Atlantic Station through Jan. 21, 2024.
  •  The Alliance Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol” returns this weekend for its 34th year. This, the third year of the reimagined classic, runs through Dec. 24. 
  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse performs “The Tempest” starting Saturday and running through Nov. 26 (but not on Thanksgiving Day). A new exhibit, “In the City of Light: Paris, 1850–1920” is open at the High Museum of Art through the end of the year. 
  • The exhibit, “Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature” is open at the High Museum of Art and runs through Jan. 7, 2024.
  • The Atlanta Christkindl Market 2023 will be open this weekend in Buckhead Village then again, daily Nov. 24 through Dec. 24. The market brings German holiday traditions including culinary delights and handcrafted treasures.

  • Hapeville for the Holidays: Join in the park for the annual lighting of the tree! The evening is free and will include games, music, a snow play area, train rides, hot chocolate, cookies, and, of course, visits with Santa. (Tuesday Nov. 21st). 
  • Friday (17th) join the Atlanta History Center as they kick-off the holiday season with their second annual tree lighting ceremony of their 50 ft. tree with special performances followed by music, cash bar, pictures with Santa and more in the museum.
  • Barbie Dream Bar Cocktail Night at Battle and Brew: A night of nostalgic glitz, glamour and PINK drinks at the most iconic cocktail event of the year.
  • Garden Lights, Holiday Nights opens Saturday at Atlanta Botanical Garden and remains open through Jan. 14, 2024. 
  • The Georgia Festival of Trees opens on Saturday and continues through Nov. 26.  The Festival of Trees features a forest of Christmas trees available for auction, live music and entertainment, kids’ activities and games, gift shops from local artisans, food and more. Find it at the Georgia World Congress Center.
  • The Bell Tower Boutique at Oakland Cemetery is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Browse through a curated selection that includes handmade silver jewelry, colorful birdhouses and handcrafted cutlery.
  • From November 6 through December 9, order your fresh and fragrant Fraser fir wreaths from Historic Oakland Foundation’s annual wreath sale and decorate your home or your family plot.

  • The Alliance Theatre presents “Into the Burrow: A Peter Rabbit Tale” through Dec. 23. 
  • The exhibit Vikings: Warriors of the Sea opens at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday and runs through Jan. 1, 2024. 
  • Jurassic World: The Exhibition is open at Pullman Yards through the end of the year. Walk through Jurassic World and see a Brachiosaurus, a Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

  • The new Cirque du Soleil show “Echo” runs at Atlantic Station through Jan. 21, 2024.
  •  The Alliance Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol” returns this weekend for its 34th year. This, the third year of the reimagined classic, runs through Dec. 24. 
  • The Queen’s Cartoonists synchronize their instruments to the music of cartoons during a performance at the Rialto Center for the Ats. While classic cartoons play on the screen, the musicians lead audiences through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem and comedy as they meticulously recreate the soundtracks.
  • The 2023 Higher Benefit Concert at the Kupcakerie in Grant Park is an inaugural gospel benefit concert that helps us raise funds for our need-based grants and merit-based scholarships.

  • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse performs “The Tempest” starting Saturday and running through Nov. 26 (but not on Thanksgiving Day).

  •  Veteran’s Day Weekend is here. Check out a variety of Veteran’s Day events and be sure all the Veterans in your life enjoy a variety of freebies around town!
    – The 42nd annual Veterans Day Parade is happening on Peachtree Street between 15th Street and 4 Street on Nov. 11. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. 
    – The 2023 Georgia Veterans Day Observance Ceremony is happening 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at Azadi Galleria at the Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown Atlanta. 
    – The City of Dunwoody is hosting its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at DeKalb Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park. 
    – The City of Roswell is hosting a Veterans Honor Walk & Ceremony at the Roswell Area Park Pond at 9 a.m. Nov. 11
    – Six Flags Over Georgia is hosting Veterans Weekend Nov. 11 and 12. Veterans and active duty military personnel will receive complimentary park admission and parking when they present a valid military ID. 
    – Atlanta History Center is inviting all active-duty service members, veterans, their families and grateful community members to its Veterans Day Celebration from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Nov. 12. 
  • Come out to the Atlanta Mushroom Festival! Bring your family from out of town and have some fun at Wild Heaven West End Brewery & Gardens SATURDAY Nov. 25th! 12-7PM
  • The Atlanta Comic Convention invites all fans of comic books, toys and collectibles to the Atlanta Marriott Century Center/Emory Area Monday through Sunday.
  • Black Podcasters Weekend – 11/11 and 11/12
  • Not for the faint of heart, but a sure bet for Howl-oween lovers, Netherworld Haunted House  plans to continue scaring the bejeepers out of you through Nov. 11.

  • Atlanta 50 Years of Hip-Hop Experience is open at Underground Atlanta — ACVB Visitors Center through Nov. 1. The Experience is an immersive journey through Atlanta’s impact and legacy of hip-hop. 
  • Elevate Atlanta 2023 continues this weekend with the exhibit showcasing women photographers and their documentation of hip-hop culture.   • Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse opens “Dracula: The Failings of Men” on Saturday. The play will run through Oct. 31. 
  • The Balzer Theater at Herren’s (Theatrical Outfit) is showing “Passing Strange” through Oct. 22. “
  • Every weekend through December (weather permitting), Creator’s Market sets up on the green at Atlantic Station. The market features more than a dozen vendors selling hand-crafted products including jewelry, home décor, soaps and candle

  • The Fall Festival on Ponce returns to Olmsted Linear Park Saturday and Sunday. Look through 125 displays of local and regional fine art and crafts along with folk and outsider art.  There will be local food trucks, beverages, a children’s play area, live acoustic music and much more. 
  • The Oakland Cemetery tour, Malts and Vaults: Where Beer Meets History is Saturday. The hour-long tours begin at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Each ticket includes a complimentary beer.
  • Also at Oakland this weekend, the Pumpkin Patch returns. Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. You may purchase pumpkins, pose for photos, enjoy family-friendly crafts and activities at the children’s festival area and shop for seasonal decor, treats and handmade goods at the Museum Store gift shop and Harvest Market.
  • Scarecrows in the Garden – Atlanta Botanical Garden – Through October 31st – Scarecrows in the Garden brings to the Garden dozens of creations by local artists, crafters, youth groups and more. Entrants and visitors will delight in discovering their own personal favorites.
  • Pumpkin Centerpiece Workshop – Saturday at 6:30 in Decatur
  • The Halloween exhibit Woodland Spirits opens at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday and runs through Nov. 5. Woodland Spirits evokes mystery, adventure and imagination through commissioned sculptures created by artist Laura Lewis. This outdoor exhibit puts you face-to-face and nose-to-snout with ghostly “visitors” lurking among the trails
  • Not for the faint of heart, but a sure bet for Howl-oween lovers, Netherworld Haunted House opens for the spooky season on Friday and plans to continue scaring the bejeepers out of you through Nov. 11.

  • Elevate Atlanta 2023 continues this weekend with the exhibit showcasing women photographers and their documentation of hip-hop culture. The exhibit is open through Oct. 28 at Gallery 72 at 72 Marietta St. 
  • This weekend, on Saturday at 8 p.m., Tipsy Taggin’ conducts a course on graffiti art paint at Best End Brewing.
  • The Sweet Auburn Music Festival celebrates 50 years of hip-hop Saturday and Sunday in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood. The festival blends music, people, food, entertainment and culture. Music at this family gathering features R&B, gospel and alternative sounds. 
  • Out on Film, Atlanta’s LGBTQ film festival, begins on Thursday and runs through Oct. 1. The festival showcases approximately 150 narratives, documentaries and short films. 
  • Explore new frontiers of digital creativity at SCAD AnimationFest 2023!
  • Atlanta 50 Years of Hip-Hop Experience is open at Underground Atlanta — ACVB Visitors Center through Nov. 1. The Experience is an immersive journey through Atlanta’s impact and legacy of hip-hop. You’ll see photography exhibits, custom artwork and memorabilia. 
  • Every Saturday until Oct 15, zoo goers can enjoy the Goat Painting Wild Encounter at Zoo Atlanta. Join the animal care team and “VanGoat” the artist during a painting session. Your group chooses two colors for this unique work of art, and gets to take home the painting.
  • The Atlanta Opera and the Alliance Theatre present Stephen King’s “The Shining,” starting Saturday and running through Oct. 1. 
  • Doraville Civic Center presents The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time 9/21/23 – 10/1/23

  • Fall Fest in Candler Park returns with music, art, kids’ activities, food, and Sweetwater beverages! All FREE on September 30th and October 1st in Candler Park.
  • Mark your calendars for BBQ & Bands on September 30th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. We are excited to share that BBQ & Bands is being brought to you this year by presenting partner, Ford’s BBQ. Proceeds from the festival will continue to benefit The Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite and their Community Grant Program. This year’s festival will feature FREE entry, a variety of BBQ and food options, beer, live music, a vendor marketplace, and more. Tasting and sip tickets will be available for purchase at the event.
  • Stop at Piedmont Park Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the Atlanta African Caribbean Festival.   • East Atlanta Strut is this Saturday and uses a “porchfest” model to show off the entire neighborhood, which is rich with artists, musicians and fun-loving neighbors who will welcome you to their yards. 
  • If you love cars or have a cool one you want to show off, be sure to join the East Atlanta Roll on Friday as well!
  • Oakland Cemetery’s annual Sunday in the Park party is this Sunday. Spend a relaxing day in this oasis, enjoying live music, food and beverages, an artist market, the annual historic costume contest and a kids’ activity area.
  • The annual Peachtree Corners Festival is a two-day free community festival features arts & crafts exhibitors, a classic car show, live music, kids activities and lots of great food options! Free parking is also available for the festival.
  • The 11th Atlanta Food & Wine Festival starts Tuesday and runs through the weekend. Headquarters is Historic Old Fourth Ward Park.
