FAQ's
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the my auto detail visit?
Please remove any non-essential personal items from all parts of your vehicle that are being cleaned before your visit (ex. bags, blankets, kid’s toys, etc.).
Our techs will text when they are on their way. Before you visit, please let our techs know any access codes or procedures for gated driveways or communities. Please also arrange to be present to provide the keys to the tech or arrange a safe place to leave the keys if using contactless service.
Will you bring your own water and electricity when you detail by vehicle?
Mint Mobile has state of the art vans that have water and electricity in the van. However, due to car size, condition or time involved in a service visit, we may use your water. Mint techs will use their own hose and will disconnect any hose you have attached to the spigot before use. Mint Mobile techs generally will not need to access any electrical outlets as our on-board generators provide sufficient supply for all jobs.
How will I be billed after my car is detailed? Can I pay with a credit card?
When our techs have finished with your service visit, you will get a text or email alert to let you know service is complete. Within an hour to one day of your service visit you will receive an emailed invoice. You can pay online with any major credit card at any time. If you prefer to pay cash or check, just let your tech know before your service visit has ended. All of our invoices and card payments are processed through Housecall Pro.
How long does a car detailing service visit usually last?
Service times can vary depending on the size of the vehicle and the state of the car at arrival. However, an estimated 1.5 to 3 hours per vehicle is a general guideline for how long you can expect your service to last if you have selected an Essentials or Deluxe Detail. Our superior detail may take longer depending on the condition of the paint in particular.
What if I need to move or cancel my detailing appointment?
We understand that things come up. If you need to move or cancel your appointment, please give us a call and provide at least 72 hours’ notice. Our employees have families and count on their appointments to make a living. With a 72 hour notice we can always fill your vacant spot with another client. Any cancellation inside the 72 hour window will be subject to a $50 fee per vehicle cancelled. This fee is split between the employees who are unable to work that day due to the cancellation(s).

Should I book my vehicle as a car detail or an SUV detail?
If your vehicle is classified as an SUV by your auto maker, please book your vehicle as an SUV. For example, a Subaru Forester is considered an SUV. Similarly vans will need to be booked under the SUV/Truck/Van option. For extra large vehicles, we also offer an XL option at booking.

Our packages include interior and exterior detailing. However, if you need only interior detailing, we are happy to provide you a custom quote for this service. For services not listed in our packages, we generally ask that client’s text or email us photos of the interior of their vehicle so that we can provide an accurate quote based on the condition of your vehicle. What is the difference between a car wash and a car detail?
Generally, a car wash is more of a surface clean that addresses immediate dirt and debris on your vehicle. An auto detail is a more thorough and involved service. It helps to give your vehicle that “new car” look and maintain it throughout its life. Regular detailing also minimizes wear and tear and improves the retail value of the car.
In addition to washing your car, Mint Mobile Detail Techs will use special brushes and cleaning products to remove the brake dust and other debris from the wheels, us a clay bar treatment to eliminate debris that’s bonded to your car’s surface and/or polish and gloss your paint job to eliminate scratches and oxidation. Detailing also often involves the application of a sealant which protects your car from the elements.
In the interior of the car, out detail techs will vacuum and/or shampoo the carpets (depending on the package you select) clean every crevice, apply a leather conditioner as needed, clean all glass surfaces, shine and treat the other parts of the car and more. You can learn more about what is included on each of our auto detail packages here.
What are the benefits of detailing my car?
Car detailing works to improve your car’s look and value. Auto detailing can also play an important role in increasing your car’s lifespan and keep it looking new.
Vehicles are one of the biggest purchases many people make in their lifetimes, and we spend more time in our cars than we realize. Keeping it clean protects that investment and reduces your exposure to dirt, debris, grime and allergens when you are in the car.
When it is time to replace your car, a well maintained car will also sell for a higher value.
Should I wax my car?
Having your car waxed protects your car’s exterior and makes it look glossier. Car waxing creates an extra layer on your car’s paint and clear coat while protecting it from UV rays, acid rain, dust particles, and other contaminants. Most car wash experts recommend waxing your car every three to four months.
What is a clay bar treatment?
Clay barring your paint will improve on the surface’s finish and feel. Your car collects dirt, tar, pollutants and more every day. Most of these pollutants start pretty fine but they build up over time. When this is left alone, it will start to eat away at your paint or oxidize through any protection. A good wash is not sufficient to cleanse your paintwork before applying any protection, so a clay bar is used before any wax or sealants are applied.
A clay bar feels a bit like plasticine and has a putty-like consistency. Clay barring works – in conjunction with a lubricant – to pick up any contaminants on a paint’s surface
In short, Mint Mobile Detail techs move the clay across the paint in circular motions. This removes any embedded road grime. Clay bars do not damage your paint. However, we do recommend using a professional for clay bar treatments as incorrect use of a clay bar can lead to swirl marks. Car experts recommend clay barring your car a minimum of twice a year, but more often is also welcome and will help to maintain your car’s shine.
